moroccan culture is very beautiful, but I think that the MRF uses the attachment of the Morrocans to their culture to be maintained in the power, and I find that bad

Rosa, Sorry but you are mistaken. One of the duties of the king of Morocco is to protect centuries-old traditions. He isn't using them to "stay in power" as you seem to think. He is just doing his job.
That is for one and for two, all Moroccans, with no exception, do respect the circumcision tradition and celebrate it pretty much in the same way.

What I said didn't concern the ceremony of circumcision; it is a religious obligation that I respect

What I said concerns the use by MRF of its relationship with the prophet Mohamed, for establish its authority

There is a sanctification of which makes the object the royal family, I listen the commentaries of the Moroccan television, they speak of them and particularly the king as if were representing God on earth

I know that a particular caste exist in morocco “the chorfas” coming down from the prophet (or saying that) and that are considered like being over of the common of the mortals

I find it absurd, the prophet Mohamed always lived modestly and never benefited from privileges, the one that has follow him was not his family's member, if the prophet wanted that his family detains the power he would have designer one of his parents, instead of it he designated the most competent man

The MRF reigns while using the love of the Moroccan for the Islam and her prophet and as I said it, I find this bad

May be ancient kings used the "chorafas" status to attract supporters or establish authority as you put it, but in current context it doesn't mean anything.

Morocco has at least five diffrent branches of great grandchildren of the prophet ( alawis, idrissids, sulaymanis, etc). If being a decendent of the prophet was all what it takes to become king, then we will be having a civil war now. Because all of them would be fighting for power now.

all dynasties that govern Morocco took advantage of their relationship with the prophet, and the Alaouit don't make exception, but what is serious that is this family continues to used that nowadays
it is not only at medieval time that the MRF used its relationship with the prophet, but until our day it makes that, the commentaries of the Moroccan television are eloquent, in their commentary she puts the relationship of the MRF forward with the prophet, I heard it notably at the time of the feast of the throne and at the time of the religious feast celebration
these are sentences of praise without end on the king and his cherifian family , descendant of the prophet

I heard it of my own ears, and everybody knows that the Moroccan television repeat only orders of the power

a cute picture of M6 and the crown prince :)

What you hear on TV are just official titles of the king and his family. Titles they inherited and that are part of tradition. And if you are that "informed" about moroccan TV , you should already know that their "speakers" are known for not being very creative and for using the same sentances and formulas over and over again :).

I don’t agree with you Layla 27:) , I think that all these sentences used with intention
in totalitarian system as the Moroccan one, the TV is a tool of propaganda used by the power to carry the picture that it wants to give of itself
Moroccan journalists don't have any latitude to speak freely of their king or their royal family

PS: I am not a specialist of Moroccan TV, but I like to watch at the news of foreign channels :)

Morocco celebrates HRH Crown Prince 2nd birthday:

Rabat, May 07 - The Royal family and the Moroccan people are celebrating Sunday the second birthday of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan.

HRH the Crown prince, named after his grandfather late king Hassan II, was born on 8 May 2003.

The birth of the prince was deemed a historical event in Morocco as a sign of the monarchy continuance.

News of the birth was followed by a traditional 101 artillery shots. Huge celebrations were staged all over the country to celebrate the happy event.

HM the king granted on the occasion of the birth total or partial royal pardon to 47,988 prisoners, including 409 from different nationalities.

Last April 14, the royal family celebrated the circumcision of the HRH the Crown Prince in a huge ceremony organized in the city of Fez.

About 50,000 boys, including 1,700 in Fez, have been circumcised in different cities and regions of the kingdom on this occasion.

Is the lalla salma little prince attending school inside of palace?or outside of the palace like other childrens?

Sorry for my english

Hi Florecita. moulay Hassan is only two years old. But he will probably start attending school in two years like his father and uncles did. In a school calles "le college royal" (which means royal school), in the capital rabat, with his cousins, and many young boys selected all over morroco to study with him.

It would be nice if Moulay Hassan can attend normal school like Nikolai in Denmark is and William and Harry in England have...so he can be around ordinary people...although given his mother's background perhaps she will expose him to life outside the royal circle anyway

Actually the royal school is based on the fact that the little princes and princesses are surounded by ordinary people. I said that many young pupils, from all social backgrounds were selected all over the country to attend that school. The majority of king mohamed's friends are former schoolmates. Same thing for prince moulay rachid.

Is he not the cutestttttttttt little boy you have ever seen. wow he takes the best qualities from his mom and dad..i think they should have more children.

Little Moulay Hassan is adorable. And he is so similar to his dad, king Mohamed.:)
