A photo from the Grand Ball held at this years annual coronation commemorative week.
Kiingi Tuheitia stands in the middle with his youngest son Korotangi standing to his right, his oldest son Whatumoana standing to his left and some random person standing to the left of him.
This is my photo on my Flickr account.

They are standing in Mahinarangi, part of a complex of buildings that make up his official residence at Turangawaewae Marae in Ngaruawahia near Hamilton New Zealand. Mahinarangi is used as a reception room to receive official guests as seen here with the All Blacks during the Rugby World Cup held in New Zealand in 2011.
All Black Sonny Bill Williams with the King's only daughter to his left Ngawaiihono.
All Black Captain Ritchie Mccaw with Whatumoana Paki.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Did any British royals visit Mahinarangi while staying in New Zealand?

Great posting, I am not familiar with these royals, so the pictures were enlightening for me.

Yes, HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh both visited Mahinarangi in that landmark visit in 1953 when they called on Kiingi Koroki while on the Coronation Tour.
This is the late Maori Queen Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu leading HM the Queen and HRH on the path leading to Mahinarangi.
Here they are entering Mahinarangi in 1974.
HRH Princess Anne, the Princess Royal visited on the Maori Queen in 1999.
HRH The Prince of Wales sent congratulatory messages in 2006 to the Maori Queen on her 40th anniversary as Queen.
Prince Charles sends greeting to Maori Queen - National - NZ Herald News
HM Queen Margrethe II visited on the Maori Queen there as well, but I can't remember when. I have the Maori Queen's Silver Jubilee book somewhere which has amazing photos of her travels and visitors to her home. When I have the time and can find it I will scan some of the pages and post them.

I have a DVD from the commemorative concert held in front of Mahinarangi where multiple tribes and cultural groups performed for the Queen and presented gifts. The clip from Prince Charles is featured and is quite touching and personal. I will see if I can link it somehow.

I think Kiingi Tuheitia is wearing the The Order of the Crown of Tonga, Grand Cross or second class which he was granted at the Coronation of HM King Siaosi V in 2008.
tongders
I do not recognise the riband worn by his oldest son Whatumoana.

I am quite certain that Kiingi Tuheitia was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown of Tonga.
Can anyone think what letters Kiingi Tuheitia might have after his name?
Te Arikinui Kiingi Tuheitia GCOCT, KCLJ, OStJ.
Incidentally he would be entitled to prefix his name with Chevalier with his KCLJ. Which order takes precedence? The GCOCT or the KCLJ which I think Kiingi Tuheitia enjoys a higher office in?
I think that would be his full title, I am unaware of him receiving any other honours.

A wonderfully historic photo of the Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu with HM Queen Elizabeth II at Turangawaewae Marae on the Royal Visit of 1974.
Another great photo of the Royal Party on the ceremonial porch of Mahinarangi with one great photo of HM the Queen responding to the ceremonial welcoming speeches.

The photos are fantastic, No1_Saint! Thanks a lot!
The late Queen of maori was a historical figure and great representative of her people.
Thank you for sharing such valuable and unique info.

One is glad to be of service Kasumi. Thank you so much for your contributions. Once the current renovations on the King's residence are completed I hope to be able to take some photos personally and post them here.
I agree, the late Maori Queen was and is a continuing inspiration for us as a people. Her poise and grace is something that her son and his family need to emulate. I sincerely hope they become more respectful of the high calling he has been given and the very important institution it represents.

Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu with Prime Minister Bolger signing the government settlement at Turangawaewae Marae in 1995.
Dame Te Ata with HM the Queen at Government House in Wellington after HM provided royal assent to the government settlement.
