Totally agree, with Zogolli Mati Tribal Chieftans ruling the clans of Mati region as Beys & Pashas, for centuries from Bugaret Castle Fortress, near Burrel in Mati.
A Very fine and indigenous pedigree and noble history for Albanian Kingship!
Many Thanks for your post. Regards, Ruhije (Sussex,UK)

I know Neil Rees too and some of my research was used in the book too Royal Exile.
I've known Skender Zogu many years, and knew King Zog's niece Teri Doshishti Cooper, and still keep in touch with her family.
I found the lives and histories in exile of King Zog's Bodyguards and families really interesting. Thank you for your posting! Regards, LR ('Ruhije') - UK

The couple said they both want a long engagement, that was 2010-11, and then when King Leka I died, they have had that to deal with on top of Prince Leka's political career and many Monarcho-Royalist political changes and duties.

Several reasons for this, including the death and funeral of King Leka I, and Prince Leka's new committments and meetings around the world with Albanian political and monarchist organizations, and also Elia Zaharia's drama and acting committments and studies in Paris.

Royal Visit to USA
HRH Prince Leka II Zogu, and his fiancee Elia Zaharia, had a very successful and enjoyable visit to America earlier this month, visiting Manhatten, New York City, and other places too. They met American hosts, and many ex-pat emigre Albanian-American communities, and the Royal couple were popularly received and are an incredibly positive asset to Albania both at home and as ambassadors for Albania and the Royal dynasty when travelling abroad.

Unfortunately no, i've only seen a few personal photos from people who were there, and not on any official sites or links sorry.
But i would think there must be some official pics on some organisations websites, as the couple visited various American-Albanian emigre communities, and also some Jewish immigrant organisation too.

An update on the Albanian Royal couple's visit to USA in May.
I've just found out from a friend and Zogu relative, that there should be a link on Facebook or other intnet search to -
Pan Albanian Federation of America, VATRA (NY).
HRH Crown Prince Leka II Zogu visited this organisation, among many others, in New York, and others elsewhere in USA, and there were photos taken and published of this event.

Tomb of HM King Zog & Royal Family.
The plans to move the graves and remains of HM king Zog and his family from France to Albania in 2012-13 are still intended and under organisation and negotiation with HRH Crown Prince Leka II zogu and the Albanian Government.
These plans would include all the graves of the Royal House of Zogu who died and were buried in exile in France at Thaias Cemetery, Orly, near Paris.
They include HM King Zog (1961), HH Princess Adile Doshishti Zogu (1966), HH Princess Senije Abid Zogu (1969), HH Princess Myzejen Zogu (1969), HH Princess Maxhide Zogu (1969), Commandant (Major) Salih Agolli-Doshishti (1983), HH Prince Tati Essad Kryeziu, Prince of Kosovo (1993).
Also buried at Thaias Cemetery, Orly (Paris), are many of King Zog's Ministers, Officers, and Court Officials in exile.
King Zog's other two sister's both died and are buried in Cairo, Egypt - HH Princess Ruhije Zogu (1948), HH Princess Nafije Kryeziu Zogu (1955).
Other extended family and relatives of The Royal House of Zogu, and descendants of The Zogolli family, are buried in France, Turkey, England, USA, and in Albania.
