The Aga Khan gave a speech on March 4, 2010 in Paris during "The
Marketplace on Innovative Financial Solutions for Development", an
international meeting organized by the French Development Agency
(AFD), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Bank.

The two-day event aimed to foster the creation of new financial
mechanisms to better address development challenges at global,
regional, or local levels. On pic 2 French Foreign Minister Bernard

The Aga Khan formally accepted the Canadian citizenship from Prime
Minister Stephen Harper in Toronto, Canada, May 28, 2010. Only 4
other people have been awarded honourary citizenship before, including
Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama.
The ceremony was held to mark the laying of the foundation stone of
the Aga Khan Museum, that will show the Aga Khan’s personal collection
of Islamic art.

This week, First Lady of California Maria Shriver and the Alzheimer's Association released "The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Takes on Alzheimer's." As a friend of Maria's and a longtime Alzheimer advocate, I was proud to contribute an essay about my experiences with the disease to the report.
My mother, the actress Rita Hayworth, passed away in 1987 as a result of Alzheimer's disease. I'm all too aware of the devastation the disease leaves behind, its growing prevalence and the indisputable effect it has on families and our economy. But our nation as a whole seems to be blissfully unaware of the growing urgency of this problem. Why? ...

Aga Khan project wins prestigious clean energy award
Princess Zahra Aga Khan accepted the Ashden Sustainable Energy Award on behalf of the Aga Khan Planning and Building Service (AKPBS) at a VIP ceremony at the Royal Geographical Society. [...]
Princess Zahra Aga Khan told The News that they were working to help lift thousands of families out of the vicious cycle of poverty through simple and efficient use of simple technology in high mountain areas.

This family is certainly blighted by divorces. I think most of the problem might be that all of them from Prince Aly (Karim´s father) down to this generation have married non-muslim wives./husbands. It must be a bit hard to adapt to a different religion and also different way of life- even though the Aga Khan´s family have always lived in Europe.

I wonder how long it will be before there is a wedding announcement - will it be him or her?

That is NOT a lot of money, considering how wealthy he is.

It's a record in France (country of the divorce settlement). But yes considering he 's worth 10 billions euros, yes it's not that much... for him.

With so many divorces,it's no wonder that the eldest son of Aga Khan still remains unmarried(with all his advantages and wealth around),if of course there are no other reasons for this.Although a bad experience could influence sometimes the other members of the family.

Aga Khan¿s second divorce: Third time lucky for Prince Karim? | Mail Online
After years of wrangling, the Aga Khan’s second divorce — revealed by court papers to have cost him £54 million — opens an intriguing possibility for the leader of the world’s Ismaeli Muslims and one-time playboy.
At the age of 74, will he contemplate a third marriage?
His separation from his second wife, former Princess Gabriele zu Leiningen, lasted longer than their marriage, and throughout much of this time his most frequent companion has been British-based divorcee Beatrice von der Schulenburg.

I think because he wanted to give her even less, thats why it took so long to divorce. Begum Inaara fought long and hard for the settlement that still gives the impression that the Aga Khan got off lightly. His fortune had to be estimated because he refused to name it :whistling:
All in all the Begum has come very far by getting married to either noble or wealthy men, no need to complain.

She is dressed in an eastern style which I find strange since they are not engaged.

Nice diamonds :).
The second photo shows her mother's genes very clearly.

You took the words out of my mouth, Warren. The Princess is really a spitting image of her mother.

Princess Yasmin's son commited suicide

The grandson of legendary actress Rita Hayworth was found dead of an apparent suicide in his Chelsea apartment, law-enforcement sources said today.
The body of Andrew Embiricos, 25, was found lying face-up on his bed, with a plastic bag over his head, inside his apartment at 270 W. 17th St. around 8:30 p.m. yesterday, sources said.
A friend, Aaron Edwards, made the grisly discovery.
No note was found at the scene.
Sources said Embiricos is believed to have tried to kill himself before.
Embiricos is the child of Hayworth’s daughter, Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, 61, a New York socialite who raises awareness for Alzheimer's. The princess rushed to her son's apartment after hearing the news last night. - Source

Do we know if the divorce has already been finalized and what name the Begum has chosen for herself to be known as going forward?
