Oops... about that family pic: CP Victoria's pink coat is not so great IMHO as she must have bought it at least two sizes too large - and Princess Madeleine's pant suit looks as if it was made of paper - so stiff & uncomfortable.
I don't think that the rather 'cold' setting for the photograph in that icy white Palace hallway does help either.
Plus, here we go again: Victoria's eternal rubberband ponytail & Madeleine overdoing it on the (fake?) tan... sigh. Queen Silvia & the guys in the family looked much better today.

Yes but they´ve done it there before so maybe it´s a tradition that needs to stopped.

Hey people! I was at the Royal Palace today to celebrate His Majesty, and it was great - lots of people and a good programme on the courtyard, and a yummie Prince Carl Philip in a uniform slightly behind his father!
I must say that I'm extremely disappointed at Crown Princess Victoria. I really don't like this jacket, the colour is just too much, it's way too big and it looks like a raincoat... She destroyed the whole picture with it, the visual unity of the family, because it stood out so much.
Otherwise, a good day! Okay weather, they had promised rain, but only a few drops came in the end. Nice singing and cheering for HM, and afterwards I signed the congratulatory records.
PS. Pics are coming! DS.

Well, I agree that she could have worn something else but I do like the coat. Maybe it wasn´t appropriate what with the King and Carl Philip in uniform, Madeleine in a suit and the Queen wearing a very nice coat.

GrandDuchess - wonderful pictures!!:) It looked like there was alot of people there?
Victoria- Shiny, too big rain coat and white shoes, not so wonderful...:(
Madeleine looks OK, I think the coat and pants is a little to old for her. The King and Carl Philip looks handsom in their uniforms. The Queen and Lilian looks as always elegant.

These are very nice pictures and I'm sure the King had a great birthday with all his family present with him. The people of Sweden seem to really love their royal family and it's nice to see a good turn-out for royal events like this. Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures!

After I read that, I honestly thought she was wearing those shoes again. I was about to scream. I couldn't see the photo very well, but I am calmer now that she isn't wearing them (but it isn't like the ones she is wearing are any better :(). I am not very happy about that jacket either. Now, I own a lot of pink clothing, but nothing would possess me to buy that glorified rain-coat. It's just an eyesore ... literally. It hurts my poor eyes to look at it. I feel mean for saying those things. Bad me. Silvia looks wonderful as always. I don't normally like white clothing but Madeleine's coat/jacket is pretty. I agree with Larzen that it looks too 'old' for her. Thank you everyone for the photos, and especially to GrandDuchess.:)

I agree with GrandDuchess, Victorias coat was to much and not suitable for an official photograph. In Japan it was ok and I like when she´s wearing colours instead of just black all the time. But for yesterdays photo shoot it would have looked much better if there was "colour harmony" in the photo.

If you go here and click on "så firades kungen" under the small headline "webbteve" you can see a web tv clip from the celebrations.
And if you go here, and click on "se webbteve" under the small headline "webbteve", a window for Dagens Nyheter's web tv will open up, and there you can choose to see a clip in Real Player or Windows Media Player.
