It sounds like there isn´t going to be any State dinner held during this statevisit, that isn´t so ususal is it?

Brazil's President Lula da Silva insists even during state visits abroad on attending royal white tie gala dinners wearing only a business suit and tie...

It's not just his personal style though. When King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia paid their first state visit to Brazil in 1984, there was no white tie / tiara banquet either.

It remains to be seen how 'informal' the three evening occasions during this state visit will turn out to be.

Is there any video where we can hear the Queen speaking portuguese? I'm so curious about the accent...

That may be the case, but when the President visited the UK a few years ago, he got the white tie out for the state dinner at Buckingham Palace.

What a pity, no tiara! She does look gorgeous and nice!

LadyFinn, thank you very much for the additional info from the 'unofficial' Amazonas trip which completed the state visit.

No members of the press were officially accredited to this part of the state visit, but thanks to various bloggers, more and more pictures surface.
Here are many pics of the royal couple at Manaus airport, in a series from photographer Mario Oliveira’s blog:
