Meet Australian Prime Minister at Parliament House, Canberra
(photos from ANP) CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA: King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden (2nd R) and Queen Silvia (L) are welcomed by Australian Prime Minister John Howard (2nd L) and his wife Janette (R) to Parliament House in Canberra, 07 November 2005, at the start of his six-day official visit to Australia. The Swedish royals will promote bilateral trade and cultural ties as well as meet Aboriginal elders at Uluru (Ayers Rock) on 11 November.

Wonderful photos, purple_platinum. Thank you! :) I'm really excited about this visit, and I hope there will be something on the news about their visit. It seems that whenever some member of a Royal Family who is not Crown Princess Mary or Frederik, or a member of the British RF, they don't get noticed. Silvia looks fantastic! No offence to our Prime Minister's wife, but she really puts Janette to shame.

Thankyou purple platinum and Danielle for the photos! I love Silvias hat. I'm sure by the looks of it we will be getting a good look at some good European fashion while she is here in Australia!

SBS World News Australia had a report on the visit including the king and queens view on Australia and the environment (Australia refuses to sign the Kyoto Protocol). For anyone who missed it, you can probably catch it on the 9:30 bulletin, its towards the end of the news. I'm gonna try and tape it this time!

Not to be political here, but I hope Sweden puts pressure on Mr. Howard. The reasons for not signing it [Kyoto Agreement] are just ridiculous and selfish! I missed the news, but hopefully I'll see the bulletin as well. :)
