Well Their Majesties are due in Australia in two days now, i hope they get a fair amount of coverage!

I can't seem to find any latest news of their pending arrival here and is strange because they are going to be here very soon.

Yes Australian. Hopefully at least SBS will be covering some of their activities, they showed some breif footage when CP Victoria was here.

When will they leave Sweden? Its quite a long way to Australia so perhaps they´ll make a stop on the way there?

Its my guess that they will probably make a stop in Asia somewhere :)

I guess if they arrive on Monday 7th then they should be leaving either tonight (5th) or on Sunday 6th. Its about 24 hours flying time, (without stopovers) and they will have to land in Asia, like in Singapore or Malaysia for a few hours before continuing to Australia.

and so it begin....

the 1st pics for ANP of the arrival at canberra airport :

Wonderful photos, purple_platinum. Thank you! :) I'm really excited about this visit, and I hope there will be something on the news about their visit. It seems that whenever some member of a Royal Family who is not Crown Princess Mary or Frederik, or a member of the British RF, they don't get noticed. Silvia looks fantastic! No offence to our Prime Minister's wife, but she really puts Janette to shame.

I agree.. Queen Silvia looks really great and glowing today...

Thankyou purple platinum and Danielle for the photos! I love Silvias hat. I'm sure by the looks of it we will be getting a good look at some good European fashion while she is here in Australia!

By the way, the plane they got off looks like the one the PM John Howard uses.

your welcome, Pink Tulip. I hope we'll get more photos from the coverage soon... Queen Silvia does indeed look amazing..
the plane also looks like the one Frederik & Mary used when they arrived in Canberra.

Wow, I didn't know they were going to have a 21-gun salute.

Yes that surprised me too.

Impressive! Well, for Australia it is. ;)

Ha Ha! Australia is getting its act together with protocol. With so many royal visitors over the past year or so I guess they have to!:p

The Queen looks really elegant, its so lovely to see The King and The Queen visiting Australia, anyone know when will Their Majesties visit Sydney and where will they visit?

SBS World News Australia had a report on the visit including the king and queens view on Australia and the environment (Australia refuses to sign the Kyoto Protocol). For anyone who missed it, you can probably catch it on the 9:30 bulletin, its towards the end of the news. I'm gonna try and tape it this time!

Not to be political here, but I hope Sweden puts pressure on Mr. Howard. The reasons for not signing it [Kyoto Agreement] are just ridiculous and selfish! I missed the news, but hopefully I'll see the bulletin as well. :)

Thank you everybody for the wonderful pictures from the start of this State Visit, it's great to see this coming just after I'm back from my holiday! :)

I'm really looking forward to the continuing days!
