I am amazed how many prictures there are from the gala yesterday evening. I think it is a quantum jump compared to the activities of the royal family in the last few months. Hope there will be the same number of pictures next week, when they are in Brazil.

I'd love to know as well who designed the red sequined dress - very glamorous, quite fitting for a Manhattan gala.
It doesn't look like a signature style of her two current favorite designers, Jacques Zehnder and Yuki.

As President of the Mentor Foundation, Queen Silvia is visiting Vilnius / Lithuania today. Apart from meetings with representatives of the organization, she will also pay a visit to one of Vilnius’ schools.
Tonight, the Mentor Royal Gala 2011 takes place at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre with the concert ‘Future Unplugged’, also attended by the President of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaite.

Scroll down here to picture gallery from the arrival, which was held on a quite big scale:

At her second Washington engagement, Queen Silvia actually presented a special project connected to the construction of the 11th Street Bridge in that city:

The bridge is being built by Swedish firm Skanska USA and local students have been involved in the project through mentoring programs organized by her Mentor Foundation.
