Oh no, that's so sad. I hope she feels better, but it's really too bad that she won't be there.

Too bad Queen Margrethe cant be in Stockholm... she´s one of my favourite royals. Oh well, Mary is ok to :)

what time

what time can we expect to see arrivals of other royals? is that tonight or tomorrow?

Thats too bad about Queen Margareth, I think the two are pretty close but its too bad shes sick.

Some gossip on the dresses.
DN says that it is rumoured that Madeliene has bought a dress in Hollywood, and that it is possible that Victoria has been to Italy for one of her dresses(fingers crossed and hoping since Im tired of her old satin dresses) No word on who has made Silvias dresses and nothing will be said about that either. One who has not been making dresses for the royals this time is Lars "Satin" Wallin, he on the other hand has made dresses for 11-12 of the society ladies that after sleepless nights in fare of not beeing invited because they having fallen out of favour with the Queen or divorced the Kings friends finally could relaxe once the invitations arrived....

A funny article with a somewhat bitchy tone in DN (in swedish)

I think it would be really nice if Frederik took a day away from his sailing vacation and went with the Queen being sick. Even for one night. Two consorts going, neither who are actually related to the King, with no head of the monarchy or heir to the throne going looks bad. The Swedish King isn't just another King, but a cousin of the Danish royal family. In respect of the late Queen Ingrid and her Swedish roots, as well as the geographical and historical ties between Denmark and Sweden, I think it would be important that Frederik step up to the plate and attend this event. It's a party afterall, it wouldn't he hard work.

I like how Jonas is escorting Emma. :D Even Madeleine and Carl Philip's partners are close! :) I like Emma's dress and wrap from what I see in the picture. Hope to see more close-ups!

Its not a sailing vacation. He is participating in a sailing competition - The Farr40 European circuit. He is the helmsman of his farr40 boat and he has a crew of 8 people. It is not something he just can leave. Im sure Frederik has been on the phone King Carl Gustaf:)

It's still a holiday of sorts though since sailing is his hobby and his hobby isn't considered work. In the least it's not something that is on his official calendar, so it is a holiday/vacation of sorts.

If Frederik were missing the King's birthday because of an official duty, like a UN to Africa or an economic mission to France or something like that, that would be one thing.

Do they sail in the evenings when it's dark? Could Frederik not leave for a few hours to attend the gala dinner? Then return to the sailing competition for first thing tomorrow morning? I'm sure he could arrange to have a private plane waiting for him.

To me it's a lot of a unsubstantiated reasons for shirking an event that is pretty significant. How would it have been if the King of Sweden has missed Frederik's wedding to go sailing -- or a sailing competition? It would've looked bad, and it looks bad here.

all the ladies, as far as i can see are looking lovely. rosario of bulgaria is wearing a black dress, looks like a valentino. mette marit is wearing a black-green dress and mary is wearing her engagement green dress. princess lillian, as elegant as always is wearing black and some lovely jewels. can't wait for the rest to arrive.

it's great to see that the boyfriends of the princesses and prince are there as well. a nice ocassion for them to go "official". is that emma pernald arriving with jonas?

I like CP Mary hairstyle and Queen Sonia dress, one of her best dress IMO. Princess Mette-Marit and Prince Haakon looks happy and he is soo handsome.
Nice dress for CP Maxima. I love colour scheme of brown and turquoise.
