It is reported that King Carl XVI Gustaf shot an elk on Oct. 22, 2003 in the hunt at Västmanland. His son outclassed him by shooting 4 elks.
Yennie, what's this I hear about another hunt to be held in November ?
Is this a special occasion for two hunts to be held this year ?

Queen Silvia at "ladies night" at the war academy in Stockholm. Date of the photo: 2003-11-12/ from imaginescandinavia.com
tzzzz, fur coat- I hope this is an old heirloom ( and not a completely new one) and the minks (or other gnawers) would already live in the 100. generation, when they would have survived the massacre.

A bit of history ... King Carl Gustav was very vocal about anti-sealing campaigns until he (or the state) was told to butt out by the Canadian Government ... early in his reign. I imagine at that time (and for a long time thereafter) he nor his family showed fur. But fur has been "haute couture" in Europe for the longest time, and obviously its "safe" now for the Queen to wear fur in public.
But, you're probably right, its the coat of very old animals that has been re-stitched.

She'd be wise not to come to the US and wear it though.

Let me practice my Swedish then!
Carl Gustaf and Silvia(That was easy) are a rough pair!(Strav-----Strav is rough or severe or not smooth.. It's a compound but I don't know the second part. ).
as part of it all up to and including at(or during) drinking. But "Drinken" is a noun. Plural noun from "Drink". O, well. Jag forsokte... fagelvagen bortom min fonster.

Thank you for the try Dennism, but this text belongs to another picture (in which the king is holding a glass, and Silvia is drinking with a straw out of this glass.)

I think the woman on the left in the tank-top style pink dress is supposed to be Queen Silvia and the woman on the right in the long-sleeved dress is supposed to be CP Victoria.
Is this a picture from a play or comedy troop or something similar?

Straw! Good grief. I'd never would find that word in a regular text book or a simple language book. It's not one of the first words you would learn!

"This is how Silvia turned out in 'After Darks's Version. It's lucky that she has a sense of humour!"
Haha...it's always hilarious to see fat men dress in drag. :woot:

Do you know "After dark" moosey? I´ve to admit, that the one, who played Queen Silvia looks really a bit like her (or better said, as if Silvia would look after two glasses of ABSOLUT)
