I felt so honored and proud to welcome the Queen.
The entire Swedish Royal Family has been extremely supportive of the small Swedish Jewish minority and they work tirelessly to encourage the third generation of Holocaust survivors to tell the stories of their families to young students and kids.
I just wished that my Mom and Dad could have been with me yesterday to see and hear the beautiful and very moving speech by our Queen."

The king received the first copy of Lund University's Jubilee Medal. In addition, the University awarded its annual prizes during the celebrations.

Later today king Carl Gustaf met Vice Mayor of City Planning and Culture Roger Mogert, Director of City Planning Administration of Stockholm Anette Scheibe Lorentzi, Head of Unit Martin Schröder and Political Advisor to the Vice Mayor of Urban Planning Felix Antman Debels. They discussed urban development issues in Stockholm.

King Carl Gustaf attended on Wednesday at the Living Salmon Rivers 2.0 conference in Umeå.
In August 2015 was arranged a National Water Conference around the restoration of aquatic environments and management of especially salmon and sea trout stocks. The King attended the gathering which was also held in Umeå.
Living Salmon Rivers 2.0 is a follow-up meeting and this time the theme is the management of fish resources for the development of sport fishing and fishing tourism.

King Carl Gustaf delivered today H.M. The King's Medals and the Litteris et Artibus Medals. Queen Silvia attended too.
HM The King's Medal was instituted around 1814, and is awarded in a number of different sizes. It is awarded to Swedish and foreign citizens for exceptional contributions.
The Litteris et Artibus Medal was instituted in 1853 by Crown Prince Carl (XV). The medal is awarded for outstanding artistic contributions, mainly within the fields of music, theatrical performance and literature.

On Wednesday King Carl Gustaf attended a lecture with King Carl XVI Gustaf's 50th Birthday Fund for Science, Technology and Environment at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala. The lecturer was Professor Redpath from the University of Aberdeen, UK, the 21st holder of the King Carl XVI Gustaf Professorship in Environmental Sciences.

Queen Silvia delivered today Queen Silvia Nursing Award in Warsaw, Poland. The scholarship winner was Natalia Duszenska. Queen Silvia Nursing Award is a scholarship for nursing students, founded in 2013 as a gift to Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden on her 70th birthday. Swedish Care International founded the scholarship with the intention and purpose to increase awareness of and focus on good care of elderly and dementia patients.

When king Carl Gustaf arrived to the medal ceremony of the women's cross country 4 x 5 km relay, he met finnish skiing legend Siiri Rantanen - the Olympic Gold medalist at Cross country skiing in the Olympic Games in 1956 in Cortina. 92-old Siiri is still in great shape and skiied at the Lahti2017 Arena before the women's relay started today.

The King visited today police station in Skärholmen and Karsby International School in Botkyrka. The day began in Skärholmen where the King met with Chief Superintendent Hanna Bjärgård and Inspector John Franco. Both have received the scholarship Kompassrosen from the King's Young Leadership Foundation and the King heard how the scholarship helped these polices in their professional role.

In Karsby International School in Botkyrka the king was with when MVP mentors in grade 9 held exercises on standards for students in grade 6. Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) is a mentoring program aimed at older students to become positive role models to younger schoolmates and thus combating violence and crime.
