King Carl Gustaf and queen Silvia take today part in the traditional Swedish King's Rally in Öland. The king and queen have a Volvo PV60 from the year 1946, which the king got as a present on his 50th birthday. 106 veteran cars drive at the rally.

At Solliden palace the King and Queen greets the participants in the Swedish Kings Race. This year's race is the twelfth one and the race takes place in the south and middle part of Öland.

^^^ Those are lovely pics. I think that eldery and children are the best fields the queen can act on her own.
 
King Carl Gustaf took today part in forest excursion in Vindeln with Future Forest and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. He is attending at events at Västerbotten county for two days.

On Monday, the elk hunt starts again. Will the king be hunting then?
- I have not had time to do much, but it will be a little later in the fall for me.

- Yes, yes, I love hunting.
The King has received many grandchildren, how the king will share his natural skills. Will the children go with the king to hunting?
- Yeah, yeah, sure, sure, but now they are so small. But the day will probably also come.

During ABB Technology Day in Västerås, which is part of the 100 year celebration of ABB's Swedish research center, the King receives a presentation of the industry robot YuMi. YuMi is a two armed robot with flexible hands, detailed input system, detailed detection camera, and state of the art robot control for assembling small components. In the picture YuMi makes a Childhood bracelet.

King Carl Gustag met today at formal audiences four newly appointed foreign ambassadors: Ambassador Francisco Hernandez Kramer from Guatemala, Nelida Contreras de Ecker from Argentina, Hans-Jürgen Heimsoeth from Germany and Veronica Rojas Berrios from Nicaragua.

The event wasn't at the calendar, so was it official or private? Queen Silvia arrived obviously with some friends, the lady in blue behind her is the queen's friend Catharina Stenbock Lewenhaupt.

Probably a combination of a private visit and an official visit. Some things they keep secret until the very last minute. She was there with some friends but also with a court lady, adjutant and life guards. The Queen is good friend with the owner of the Theatre Vicky Von Der Lancken too (to her right) and "The Phantom" himself Peter Jöback is a huge favourite at the Royal Palace.
They sat very well visible in the middle of the salon so everyone was quite surprised when they arrived.

I have a hernia myself. I know how painful and uncomfprtable it can gets, especially for an older person.
 
King Carl Gustaf and queen Silvia attended on Tuesday evening at the church concert "Förklädd Gud" (God in Disguise) at the Lovö church in Ekerö.
King Carl Gustaf got as a gift for his 70th birthday from Ekerö parish a performance of "Förklädd Gud", a work by composer Lars-Erik Larsson, with text by Hjalmar Gullberg. The parish knew that this is one of the King's musical favorites.
-It is the King's favorite piece, says Margareta Thorgren.
Lovö church is the royal couple's home church, and when they couldn't attend at the performance of the work in summer 2015, came the idea to give the concert as a gift to the king when he turned 70, Ekerö parish newspaper tells.
On Tuesday the court announced that the king must change his planned program after suffering from herniation.
- It was a concert that was planned long ago. The king chose to implement the program, despite the information we went out with before. After the circumstances the king is feeling good, says Margareta Thorgren.
The adjustments in the King's program are made for this week, next week's program is planned to be carried out as it was supposed earlier.
- It was at last week's state visit when the king had pain in his shoulder and arm, because of a herniated disc, Thorgren says.
