The Stockholm Human Rights Award was established in 2009 by theInternational Bar Association (IBA), The International Legal Assistance Consortium (ILAC) and the Swedish Bar Association. The award, which comes in the form of a glass sculpture and a diploma, is given annually to an individual or organization for outstanding contributions to human rights and the rule of law.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is the 2017 recipient of the Stockholm Human Rights Award. The President, Judge Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi; the Prosecutor, Dr Fatou Bensouda, and the Registrar, Mr Herman von Hebel – will receive the 2017 Stockholm Human Rights Award jointly on behalf of the Court on Monday 20 November 2017 at Berwaldhallen.

King Carl Gustaf presented a regiment standard to Livgardet (the Life Guards) at the Inner Courtyard of the Royal Palace. The old standard that is now worn has been at the Life Guards for 17 years. The King handed over the new regiment standard to colonel Laura Swaan Wrede, the commander of Livgardet (she is also one of Victoria's aide-de-camps).

King Carl Gustaf delivered today the Prince Carl Medal to Staffan de Mistura, UN Special Envoy for Syria, for outstanding international humanitarian efforts.
The Swedish-Italian diplomat Staffan de Mistura has since 2014 been the UN Special Envoy in Syria with the task of finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in the country. Queen Silvia, princess Christina, Tord Magnuson and Jan Eliasson, the former Deputy Secretary-General of UN attended at the event.

A telegram of congratulations is sent today from the King to Finland's President Sauli Niinistö to congratulate the President and the Finnish people on the Independence Day.
The Republic of Finland celebrates today, December 6, 2017, 100 years of independence. During the year, the royal couple has paid attention to the Finnish anniversary, including by visiting Helsinki together with other Nordic Heads of state and receiving Finland's Presidential couple in Stockholm. Tonight, the royal couple attends at a jubilee concert to Finland's honor in Berwaldhallen. The concert is broadcasted live in Sweden's Radio P2 and Sisuradio at. 3.19.

On Thursday's visit to the Solna headquarters, Director General Anders Thornberg of the Swedish Security Service told about the organization and the challenges that the Security Service faces.

Interesting that he changes his order and always wear the sash of the Order from country from which the ambassador is.
King Philippe wears the sash of the belgian Order of Leopold for all ambassadors and Kuing Felipe VI. likewise the spanish Order of Carlos III.

Yes he does and I think it is a nice way to honour the country in question.

I did know about this fact before, I think it was shown in the 70th birthday interview, aired on SVT, how he changed his orders between audiences. I also recall seeing pictures before of the King wearing various foreign orders for the formal audiences.

Statement by H.M. King for the death of Ingvar Kamprad
Ingvar Kamprad was a true entrepreneur who by his life work IKEA helped to bring Sweden out to the world.
He was a down-to-earth person with a great commitment. I and the queen had as late as last summer the privilege to work with him on the issue of the accommodation situation of elderly people.
My and my family's thoughts and deepest sympathy goes today to Ingvar Kamprad's family and friends.
