This evening queen Silvia receives Theodor Wanner Preis in Berlin, Germany. She donates the prize money to Sociedade Beneficente Alemã (German Relief Society) in Sao Paulo.
She is committed to disadvantaged and abused children, has founded the World Childhood Foundation and is also the patron of more than 60 associations, projects and events: Queen Silvia of Sweden, has been internationally active in social commitments for decades. Among many others, her dedication to dementia patients and the endowment funds she established for the benefit of research in the field of parasports are inspiring examples of how a personality of the times can prudently and substantively make use of her social position in order to help as many people as possible.

Queen Silvia visited the exhibition Century of the Child at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin. The exhibition is about how the children's environment looks, at home and at the nursery, but also on the role of the fathers in the children's lives. The queen also inaugurated a symposium "Framing Childhood"

King Carl Gustaf had a planned visit to Örebro University on Wednesday. There was a lecture on microplasts that was the King's 70th birthday gift of the University.
But while the king was in town, he wanted to visit the mosque in Vivalla, which largely burned down on Tuesday. A person is arrested suspected of arson.

Have to say that I'm impressed by the decision to visit the mosque, and that the King makes a statement by the visit. Something I applaud!
 
King Carl Gustaf attended today WWF's autumn meeting in Ulriksdal Palace. He delivered also the Awards "Årets Miljöhjälte" (The Environmental Hero of the Year) and "Årets Pandabok" (The Panda Book of the Year). The king delivered the Environmental Hero of the Year Awards to opera singer Malena Ernman for her commitment to the climate issue, and biologist Rebecka Le Moine for the work on biodiversity. The Panda Book of the Year Awards went to photographers Staffan Widstrand and Magnus Lundgren for a book "Ett vildare liv: en bok om det vildas återkomst".

Queen Silvia inaugurated on Wednesday exhibition Lerins lärlingar at the Art gallery Sandgrund Lars Lerin in Karlstad.
In the autumn, artist Lars Lerin had an art course on Karlstad municipality's daily business Ventilgatan. Twenty-one people with different disabilities participated in the course, where they mostly painted, but also sculpted and photographed. As an end to the course, the works of the participants will be shown in an exhibition at the art gallery Sandgrund Lars Lerin.

King Carl Gustaf and queen Silvia attend this evening at a concert of Jacob Mühlrad's "Kaddish" in Berwaldhallen.
Composer Jacob Mühlrad got in January the scholarship from Micael Bindefeld Foundation in Memory of the Holocaust (queen Silvia delivered the scholarship). With the support of the Foundation Jacob Mühlrad was able to complete his project, and "Kaddish" is this evening performed in Berwaldhallen. Kaddish tells about Mühlrad's grandfather Michael Bliman's time in the concentration camps Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen.

King Carl Gustaf delivered the Polhem Prize to Daniel Stenberg at National Museum of Science and Technology on Thursday. Sweden's oldest technical award was launched in 1876 in memory of inventor Christopher Polhem. The Polhem Prize is awarded for high-level technological innovation or genius solution of a technical problem. Prize winners are rewarded with SEK 250,000 and the Polhem Medal.

Then the king attended at the opening of the Cultural Fund for Sweden and Finland's forestry research project. It started with a seminar "Sweden and Finland together towards the future value of forests" at Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. The seminar was a presentation of Tandem Forest Values, a Swedish-Finnish research effort in forest production and forest industry development. The investment is a gift from Sweden to Finland due to the fact that the country celebrates 100 years as an independent nation.

King Carl Gustaf met today Sara Danius, the permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy. Danius presented the program of the formal gathering of the Academy on 20th December, and told about the receivers of the royal prizes.
