Mette-Marit & Mathilde greet one another...

any pictures of the king's sisters and their families from the concert?

I agree that Mary looks a bit lost, and it is kinda weird that she "changes partners" (first with CP W-A, then with King Harlad of Norway) why not just stick with Prince Henrik like yesterday and today's lunch?

Because Henrik escourted HM the Queen Beatrix, thats why.

the Crown Princess did seem a little "lost", if one can call it that. To be expected I guess given the fact its her first big royal gathering besides her weddin & of course the family reunion in Sweden but that they were of a different nature.

I think Madeleine looked better than Victoria at the luncheon especially with her coat off. She looked soft and angelic. Victoria's daytime outfit looked better at the christening of Prince Christian. The white skirt looks wrinkled and doesn't mesh well with her top. At the gala dinner though, Victoria trumps Madeleine in every single way. Madeleine must be working hard in NYC if she didn't go shopping at top designers in NYC for a new gown....

BTW, I think Madeleine is wearing her aquamarine drop necklace at the luncheon. She also wore this necklace to a friend's wedding. It goes well with the outfit. :)

It's also the first time she's been without Frederick at such a big royal showing as this. But I think this reflects badly on Frederick and not Mary. She looked great on the first night and okay on the second. This gown is definitely not a favorite of mine and she always pairs the aquamarine choker with stuff that doesn't match (she paired this choker with a purple gown that did not go well together). She should wear the choker with a dark blue strapless gown or something.

Who is the lady in the "I can see your breasts" dress?
What lady? I didn't see anyone with that problem?

a little more from UK Press from the Gala Dinner..
i like how they switched partners... funny.. (#3-6, 9)

Was the white at the bottom of Mary's dress part of the dress or her slip? Either way it did not look like it belonged there.
At these gala events the men wear long sleeved shirts and tails and the women mostly of the shoulder dresses. Either the women are freezing or the men are awfully hot. They all look very comfortable from the photos but logically either one or the other should not be.

Thanks for all the lovely photos. They all looked great.

Most of the Royals changed their escorts during the event. CP Willem-Alexander was seen escorting Princess Madeline, CPs Maxima was seen escorted by Prince Carl Philips, Prince Henrik escorting Queen Beatrix and also Queen Paola , King Carl Gustaf escorting Queen Beatrix also.

It is part of the dress and meant to be like that.:)

Understandably so since this is Mary's first big royal gathering without Frederick. She looked more at ease the first night and IMO it's because she had Henrik by her side. The second night she was escorted mainly by WA and she might have felt a little odd since Maxima was on this other side for some time. She was probably missing Frederick more than anything who would have escorted/supported her had he been there.

wow!! Thanks for the pics, I love seeing these royal gatherings and seeing how they interact. It's a surprise to see Mathilde and Mette Marit greeting each other so cordially, great!

I absolutely love Mathilde's dress, I disagree that it's unflattering. She isn't a model, but has a good figure and can certainly wear it. The cleavage is nice and a bit sexy. I encourage this, Mathilde! :):) And she was wearing a new necklace! My wishes fulfilled :) Now all she needs is a new tiara.

Paola looked nice too in her glittering dark dress, that falls very nicely.

Maria Teresa also was a winner again. She looked smashing all through this event.

Queen Silvia looks too eighties for me, that huge, big dress in an ugly color...not fore me.

Im disapointed with the swedish women, Silvias dress is too 80s (the tiara must be a load to carry and she does it beautifully for such a long time) Victorias dress is bland on such a pretty woman and Madeleine using a dress she has used twice before for ther father birthday is a bit disapointing

Mary looked smashing in the green dress but quite bland in the gala dress, and I dont like the choker on her, it ages her. Mette-Marit, there obiously is a hairdresser around since she got her hair done for the day event but why not for the galas, diapointing dresses as well. She always dresses so bad when she is nursing, I do love the red hat on her for some reason though. I think Mathilde looked OK in the red Armani, she has worn more flattering dresses before IMO.

Maximas skirt is just to much for me, Marie Chantal looks like a barbie in her Prada gown,Im glad to see Sonja finally getting a new gown, and Paola also looks elegant. Princess Rym looked very exotic and beautiful in her red gown

Again the first lady of Iceland looked very regal, even more so than most of the actual royals there, and with those long gloves as a beautiful touch, a pitty not more wears them.

I think Mary looked absolutely fine and disagree with the majority here. I am glad she wore her smaller tiara as the rubies would have been to overwhelming with this dress. I liked the green gown she wore as well, I just love that greek/roman style.

Maxima had an amazing tiara, it looks 3 times bigger oin her head then on the Queens (who hides it in her coiffure). I don't like the dress to much, to wild and it should reach the floor. I also think she wears to much make-up. And the ensemble just screams for a necklace. Carl-Philip and Maxima make an odd pair, as she is taller then him.

Queen Beatrix please throw that gown away ASAP! It is more suitable for a drag Queen who is impersonating Diana Ross, then for a Queen of The Netherlands. Her tiara is almost completely hidden in her fluffy hairdo.

Best dressed ladies IMO: Queen Anne-Marie and Grand Duchess Maria Theresa (again!).

unlike many people here i loved madeleine. i think her pink dress is just something to wear over and over again. it suits her greatly and the hairdo was just perfect. she looked simple and delicate. the colour also makes a great contrast with her skin. i also loved maxima's. i think in this photo she looks very princessy (http://img22.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc225&image=50958_NUNNS_PALACE_DINNER_025.jpg). the tiara was amazing as well, in my opinion one of the most beautiful ones of the dutchs. mathilde looked great again. i was surprised to see the clevage she decided to wear, but she looked lovely. red really suits her.

nice detail of w-a to be with two beautiful ladies. i don't think the dress of mary was the best option with the colour of the skin. the hairdo was however nice. perhaps her rubi parure would have made a difference considering the simplicity and colour of the dress.

rosario didn't surprise me at all, i was expecting something different. princess rym's dress wasn't really the best choice either. that medieval looking gown was everything but suitable for her.

i didn't see any pictures of mette marit, though.... (EDIT: i just saw her. that gown is beautiful. i think the only problem there was that the tiara wasn't positioned correctly/the hairdo wasn't the most appropiate to make it shine)

Great pics all, thank you so much!
Of the dresses last night I liked: Maxima (gorgeous, red is so her color and the Mellerio ruby tiara looks fab on her!), Mathilde (beautiful!), Maria-Teresa, Sonja, Madeleine, Victoria and Paola.
I'm not too sure about Mary, loved the dress but the color made her look a bit pale.
I absolutely hated what Queen Beatrix was wearing and Silvia's dress was ugly too. As many said before me: too much of the eighties...

But how lovely to see them all together and with that splendid jewelry! :)

Wow they all looked great!
Queen Silvia's dress was gorgeous! She looked very beautiful! But I don't like this very huge Tiara. :(
Princess Mary looked stunning too! Very elegant! I love her dress!
Princess Maxima's Tiara was great! But I don't like this feather-things at the skirt!
Queen Sonja looked faboulous as usual! :)
I also like the dress of Queen Beatrix! finally some nice colours on her! :) But she should have chosen a bigger Tiara! You nearly cannot see it in her big big hair ;).

In this picture, is there someone behind Haakon & his wife? If you look closely, there's a female leg visible right behind Prince Haakon's legs;)

Wonderful photos! Thank you everybody who posted

I must say I´m a bit dissapointed by the swedish royal family´s choice of dresses. The day time wear was ok, even tough Victoria recycled.
But the evening dresses! Silvia wore a new dress and imo it wasnt super. Madeleine wore her dress in Denmark, meaning photos of it has already been spread over the world. If she didnt wanted to buy a new one, atleast she could have chosen a more "less-known" than that... And Victorias is very similar to the one she wore at Nobel 2005 (it isnt the same is it?)

But, oh well. Its nice to finally see the family together! And I´m glad they posed for the photos wearing evening dresses instead of their day-wear.

What a change since his last birthday... they have grown :)
