I just came across this article and decided to open a thread:
Jamaica Gleaner News - All set for Spanish monarchs - Friday | October 31, 2008

Spanish monarchs King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia to visit Jamaica

The couple will visit Jamaica from December 2 to 4. It is likely that the royal couple will arrive in Kingston, where they will spend the afternoon of the second and morning of the third, ending their trip in Montego Bay the following day. With a number of recently opened Spanish hotels set for inauguration, King Juan Carlos is expected to take part in ceremonies, namely Fuerte Hotel Group's Seawind Key at Montego Freeport, Phases Two and Three at Iberostar plus Fiesta Hotel's Grand Palladium and Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton resorts.

... and they are not going!
