I am sorry to say, but the Grand-Duchess looks way too casual for a State Visit. In trousers? No hat? No gloves? No jewels?

Visit at the French Senate !

super excited to see all the family in the state visit! awesome cameos.

She looked lovely. All you mention are out of date relics of the past.

Great and unexpected turn-out only prince Sebastién is missing. Anyone any idea what he is currently doing after he finished Sandhurst last year?

Very nice ! I believe one or two of the children currently live in Paris.

That would be princess Alexandra I suppose? Or does prince Sebastién (also) live in Paris - although in that case his absence tonight is unlikely...

Guillaume & Stéphanie live in Luxembourg
Félix & Claire in Geneva (if I am not mistaken - although they probable still spend quite some time in the Provence)
Louis in London
Alexandra in Paris (she apparently turned up as 'one of the Luxembourgers living in France/Paris')
Sebastién in ???

Yep Gérard Larcher ...
He seems like a cheerful fellow. Maria-Theresa looks both amused and as if she's thinking if they'll ever get inside.

He's certainly a "bon vivant"

My recommendation would be, if no cravate-noire is set as dresscode: "Gentlemen in black suit with black tie".

Atleast in Sweden and I think in Denmark the combination of a black suit and a black tie is only worn at funerals so it might not be all that appropriate when receiving guests from those countries .

The Grand Duchess of Luxembourg is a warm and loving person and a great Consort to her husband.

I think that is the case in all countries, but as you can see on pictures of the Élysée, it comes closest to black tie and looks stylish indeed. By the way, when you see stylish gentlemen: nothing beats a modern cut well-tailored black costume, with a crisp white shirt and a skinny black tie.

:flowers:

As a little souvenir, video of the offcial escort during the state visit (including the enormous State procession from the Invalides to the Elysée palace).
