Wedding pictures of Henri and Maria Teresa on 14th February 1981

Although it was a cold day with grey sky and drizzle, the hearts of the audience was warmed by the view of such a wonderful wedding of Heridarity Prince Henri and his beautiful wife commoner Maria Teresa on 14th February 1981, the day of lovers.

I copied the wedding pictures to this thread because I think that they should be in a thread of The Grand Dukes of Luxembourg, too.:)

You know that after Henri married Maria Teresa on 14th February 1981, his sisters Margaretha (march 1982 with Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein) and Marie-Astrid (6th February 1982 with Archduke Carl-Christian of Austria) married in 1982. Is that a coincidence?

Perhabs Princess Marie Astrid met Carl-Christian on Henri's wedding or Margaretha met Prince Nikolaus on one of the two weddings before.:p

maybe, maybe not. on a previous thread, there was talk of josephine-charlotte being the mother - in - law from hell. perhaps her children wanted to get away from her around the same time b/c the same thing happened in my dad's family with his sisters; 4 of his older sisters got married around the same time, roughly 2 to 3 weeks apart, just to get away from their parents whom they considered then, and still do now, above and beyond overbearing and stuffy.

I've picked up again that picture lori talked about and another picture of young Maria Teresa to compare.

And I would say that the young lady on this picture is her sister Catalina and the old women is Maria Teresa's mother!
