Default State Visit to Switzerland: April 4-6/2006
King Harald & Queen Sonja will pay a oficial visit to Switzerland from April 4 to April 6.

15.20 The King and Queen visit the Swiss parlament, Bern
16.00 The King spekes with the Swiss President
16.00 The Queen visit Zentrum Paul Klee, Bern

17.00 The King and Queen attends a seminar of traffic safty
17.30 The King and Queen attends a MR-conference, Bern

April 6

Royals head for Switzerland

King Harald and Queen Sonja set off Monday on a state visit to Switzerland. Norway has a lot in common with the land-locked country in the heart of Europe.
High prices, a refusal to join the European Union and a passion for skiing are just some of the traits shared by Switzerland and Norway. And the man who was the Norwegian royal couple's closest adviser is now Norway's ambassador to the home of the Matterhorn.

King Harald V (C) and Queen Sonja of Norway speak to journalists with Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store (L) after a visit 04 April 2006 at the headquarters of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva. Norway, the sixth largest financial contributor, is a strong supporter of the UN refugee agency, providing the first-ever high commissionner.

Norwegian press is reporting that they are not travelling SAS as planned because there is a possible strike on the way amongst the cabine personell (always in time for vacation ) so the forreign ministry has chartered a Sterling plane to be sure the royal couple and entourage will be on time during the visit
