Queen Margrethe's 75th Birthday Celebrations: April 2015

Susann Heering just arrived. Usually she wears a laurel wreath tiara. Not today. I can't hold in my disappointment. I doubt that the royals will be the only ones wearing tiaras.

I think the non-reigning Families are usually not invited in Denmark.
Not even Liechtenstein.

For those who watch live, the guests are arriving now.

ADDED: The whole thing is delayed due to an alarm that had guardsmen and police officer rushing in.
The perpetrators turned out to be three doves who has parked themselves on a fence and thus triggered the alarm.
After the police questioned the feathered intruders the guests are now allowed to go in.

Yeah, I noticed the security scare.

Just Princess Elisabeth arrived without a tiara. How disappointing. has Daisy got ill that she skipped the tiaras for today.

Also Countess Susie and Countess Karin without tiaras. It is clear, imo.
They did away with the theatre gala which usually were done for big events, and they did away with tiaras for black tie. I think they are giving in and do away with the glamour.

King Constantine and Queen Anne Marie have arrived.

..and then Princess Benedikte...I like her empire style floral gown.

I think it has also to with that is not a round birthday like 60th or 70th etc. and therefore the celebrations are not as grand as for those.

LMAO at Joachim's velvet maroon dinner jacket...very Hugh Hefner. Sadly, he overshadowed his wife. I think she's wearing a pretty soft pink gown that I've never seen.

At least there was a tribute by the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (of which Queen Margrethe II is the colonel-in-chief). That compensates a bit for the British absence at these festivities.

Is that a new brooch Mary is wearing, or is it just a part of the dress?

Right, now the guests are being greeted and in twenty minutes or so all the royals, including those who stay at Fredensborg and there were not seen arriving will walk in. That will be shown live as well.

Mary looked very feminine.

Joachim, deservedly got a lot of praise from the commentators for his dapper burgundy jacket, as befits a well dressed gentleman.

I was wondering the same thing. If it's a new brooch then I'll forgive the gown, which I don't like.

The commentators said it is a brooch.

So we don't see the Queen and foreign royals? Or did I understand wrong?

Mary was wearing a different bracelet today. Maybe she borrowed some jewels.

F&M just arrived hand in hand, Mary looks stunning in a feminine new silver gown!

What about the other Crown Prince Couple?

I didn't like Benediktes gown, but she's a pretty lady.

Also think our Prime Minister looks stunning.

Now we are waiting for the Queen.

He looked good in his smoking jacket.

QMII is currently residing at Fredensborg and apparently all the Scandinavian royals are staying there with her – meaning that they already are at the palace and thus don't need to formally arrive like e.g. Mary and Frederik who still reside at Amalienborg.

Has princess mette marit arrived yet ...

Mary and Frederik look fantastic

but without Henrik and his color, Joachim has stepped into his footsteps.

Mary looked very good and Frederik, goes without saying how good he looks in a tux

The gentlemen you see in the picture in "penguin-attire" with pennants on their shoulders, are volunteer waiters. They are free masons and can be relied upon to be discreet.

Se billederne: Her ankommer gæsterne til Fredensborg Slot | www.bt.dk

A gallery of the guests arriving. Will probably be updated.

Observe and admire how Joachim, an always perfectly attired gentleman, dresses.

At last nights dinner i noticed everybody had a small black box at their place setting - where these the birthday medals? Did everyone who attended receive one?

Margrethe in the gown she wore for the Dutch visit with turquoise jewels.

Is Haakon representing King Harald? He's not with MM but rather sitting next to Queen Margrethe.

I suspect QMII sitting next to Haakon has got something to do with him being her godson.

I think there will be broadcast speaches
