Very large and impressive! Are Prince Henrik's sculptures located in galleries and institutions throughout Denmark?

Thanks, Iceflower. :flowers:

Yes, PH's sculptures can be found in many places in DK.

Apart from the gardens around Cayz, Fredensborg and Marselisborg. And they are pretty good I think.

:previous: It's almost a gala-uniform for her by now...

Today QMII showed up for the annual party at Copenhagen University, which dates back to 1479.
Dronningen lyste op til fest på universitetet | BILLED-BLADET

It's not the oldest Danish university AFAIK. I believe the university in Lund (now Sweden) predates it.

But the ignominy of 1660 has not been forgotten and we shall eventually get our ancient provinces back!
- Don't tell anyone but 2nd Battalion of the Sea Scouts are currently preparing to land in Sweden and then the 3th March Column of the Salvation Army will march into the town of Lund and liberate the citizens from the Swedish occupiers.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #46, 2016.
Written by Ken Richter.

Recently PH went to the city of Aalborg to unveil a sculpture of his, called Masculine.
After a comfortable journey in the royal wagon, PH unveiled the sculpture and talked a little about his art and what he is doing these days.
"I've found inspiration in Africa and in the East where I come from.
The art is a part of my free-space.
I allow the fantasy to roam freely and see what comes out of it. It would be wrong to look too solemnly at my artistic work, because art must be seen, touches and created.
I enjoy having more time for myself and get around in Denmark and see it all both from down-up and up-downwards".

- PH has previously shown a good deal of interest in African art and sculptures. And through reading about that I learned that African art is mostly contemporary - at any time. Because art is not preserved, but discarded after a period or simply when the interest wear off or in some cases doesn't work anymore. There is still a good deal of "magic" in some art-forms in places south of Sahara.
The result is that it is hard to find "old" African art in the form of sculptures..

Finland celebrates in 2017 100 years of independence. President Sauli Niinistö told about the celebrations to the press on Tuesday.
Among other things, the centenary year will also feature in the President’s trips abroad and visits from overseas to Finland. For example, on 1 June, visits to Finland will be made by all of the Nordic heads of state i.e. the monarchs of Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and the President of Iceland.

PH is exhibiting parts of his Asian arts collection at the old castle of Koldinghus. (*)
But just as fascinating is this very good portrait of PH: Prins Henrik udstiller sin kunst på Koldinghus | BILLED-BLADET

(*) Old castle, because the old word for castle in Danish is "hus" = which today means house, but back then meant a large stone building, usually church, castle or abbey.
The modern word, sort of since the word has been is use for some 500 years, for castle is "borg", from German "burg".
The word "slot", which derives from the German Schloss, in DK means a manor or castle used or in use by the DRF.

Thanks, Polyesco.

Technical officers are specialist officers, like engineers, machinists, intelligence and so on. On an academic level.
In contrast to command officers, who get a more all-round leadership education, ending up in them being in command of their own ship and perhaps even becoming an admiral one day.
Frederik is a command officer.

In that coat, HM very much looks like a Snow Queen. Love it!

PH has been on a trip for WWF to Myanmar: Prins Henrik overrasker: Er taget på hemmelig rejse til Myanmar | BT Royale - www.bt.dk

He visited the capital and also went to a large forest in the southern part of the country, which is under threat from being reduced significantly due to Myanmar's building up it's infrastructure and investments in industry. That among other things threaten the tigers living in the area.
The trip was kept secret - for whatever reason.

- How is the current security-situation or crime rate in Myanmar? I'm not up to date:

- How is the current security-situation or crime rate in Myanmar? I'm not up to date:
Myanmar used to be very safe for tourists but now, with all those Danes running around, it's quite dangerous there. :)
No, seriously, crime rates in Burma, especially involving foreigners, are lower than those of many other countries in the Southeast-Asia region although the rate has been increasing since the country's opening.

the Queen looks fantastic at the Aarhus cultural event :flowers:

aw Henrik with his very green jacket:eek:, and I see he has shaved his beard
