Thank you for listing the Lineage of the Royal Moroccan Household. It is important to highlight the distinction between Morocco and It's European Counterparts in terms of History, Culture, and Civilization past and present. I have also noticed that the manurisms of this distinguished househould have been scrutinised in terms of comparing them to European or Arab Households. This is incorrect, the names of the family members although Islamic are not arab as the misunderstanding has often arisen; they are of Burber origin as in they are indigeounous Moroccans and Africans. Their manurisms are indicative of the fact that they practice their ancient culture. Which would explain the Make up which HRH Princess Lalla Salma wears, the reason why she would not tend to things in a manner befitting a European Heads of State or U.S. leaders. There have also been referances to the fact that she apparantly fails to represent the women within her country. She represents Moroccan Women by behaving in an Islamic Manor which would decree that: she keeps a low profile in terms of un Islamic matters; she must wear modest attire as is the requirement within Islam; she must tend to her Royal Duties provided they do not interfere with her Islamic duties to Allah swt, herself as a Muslimah and her Family. There have also been negative remarks about her physical appearance, one must not judge a person by their countenance nor by the height of their stature for man seeth not as God seeth for man seeth the outward appearance the Lord Looketh on the Heart. HRH Princess Lalla Salma is a chaste and pious Muslimah who doesn't do things to materially damage her situation within Islam. One must take into account her personallity, her attitude to life and the good deeds that she perfomrs withih this life in order to assertain as to weather or not she is a good person. The African custom is that a woman must have a veluptuous figure in order to safely bear Children, to please her husband and primarily the she may live in a healthy manner, height and asthetic beauty aren't taken into account, if it at any time has then that IS NOT AFRICAN CULTURE. The way in which , this Royal Household tends to things the Islamic way and no other, dispite the wishes of those whom disapprove. Finally, those of us who were born to Royal Househoulds have spent our Past Childhoods being reared and trained within the Royal Etticuites befitting our Respective Countries, those who marry into such Families have a harder task as they have less the time to master such knowledge which, one must add takes at least a decade to master. HRH Princess Lalla Salama didn't attend the funeral of the late HSH Prince Renier of Monaco (my appologies for the incorrect spelling) is due to the fact that Islam states that Muslim Females are forbidden to attend funerals of any kind but can pray for the diceased at Home. The author of this post is also of African origin.

Roshanah, I dont mean to be rude really, but you're clearly going out of your way to bring Islam into all your posts. Now I respect that you have a certain point of view and you obviously believe that it is right, but this is a very diverse forum and the Muslims here have diverse views. Just as the Muslim royal houses here represent diverse cultures, Muslim and non-Muslim.
Islam, the Quran do NOT prohibit women from attending funerals. Again, this tradition is evidence of various cultural and traditional contaminations within Muslim societies. You will find countless scholars to support this view. Perhaps where you are from these conservative values are the norm, because Shariah is different in every country. But that doesnt make those values obligatory or even Islamic.

According to the Quran and the traditions of Prophet Muhammad, there is no established law that forbids women’s attendance. Prophet Muhammad’s burial was witnessed by several women, including those from his family. The Prophet’s wife, Ayesha, witnessed the burials of the first and second caliphs, Abu Bakr, her father, and Umar. She is also a source of several traditions (hadith) of the Prophet Muhammad.

Now Lalla Salma may not have attended the funeral of Prince Rainier, but most Muslim royal women attend funerals, ie Queens Noor and Rania and Princess Sarvath of Jordan, Empress Farah of Iran etc.

yes you're right. Though in many countries custom is confused with religion as it seems to preserve the patriarchal sensibilities of the local regimes.

it's impossible that the prince has two children, because he isn't married :)
