French president in Morocco April 3-4
Rabat - The president of the French Republic, François Hollande, and his spouse, Valérie Trierweiler, will pay, on 3 and 4 April, an official visit to Morocco, the ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced on Sunday.


Ms Valérie Trierweiler is coming too Moroccan the palace mention her as Holland official spouse,must be intersting to see her agenda in Morocco.

She's not his spouse ;) They are not married :p
I guess they call her like that, because it would be strange to call her the girl friend of the president :)
 
well maybe they are only avoiding embarrassment.anyway i think Madame Trierweiler relation with Mr Holland isn't a big deal here she is the first lady of France and should be welcomed as sush.

Rarely do we see the Moroccan royals undertaking an engagement together. It is nice to see Prince Moulay Hassan appearing alongside his parents and getting a training for his future position.
Lalla Salma looked lovely.

The visit seems to be going well. It was nice to see Prince Moulay Hassan and Lalla Khadija appearing alongside their parents.

How is it done at incoming State Visits in France?. Here in Germany Mrs. Schadt, the partner of President Joachim Gauck has acted as First Lady at incoming State Visits. And that despite the fact that he is still married to another wife. Altough they are separated since 20 years.

Mrs Valérie Trierweiler has the position of First Lady. As such she's the official hostess and acted like this during the two last incoming state visits (Italy and Brazil). She was received as First Lady of France in USA, India, Algeria and now Morocco.

Really, I dont understand the position of Valérie...She is not the wife of President Hollande !!!!! WHat about protocol??????

President Sarkozy got married Carla Bruni. Before their marriage, they neve went together to an official visit.

What do you expect the countries to do? They are just polite. The French government and President Hollande manoeuvre their colleagues from various countries into an awkward position. The countries in question try to smooth out the situation the best way they can.
