Marrakech International Film Festival - 2003
1 & 5. Princess Lalla Hasna - the sister of the Moroccan king - met Alexander the Great at the weekend, when a troupe of Hollywood heavyweights turned out for the Marrakech film festival. The cast of Oliver Stone's film about the Macedonian king, which is currently filming in Morocco, came along for the event. And the princess seemed charmed by Irishman Colin Farrell, who is playing the title role.

International festival of film of Marrakech from December 6 to 12, 2004
The board of directors of the Foundation of the International Festival of Film of Marrakech, which met Tuesday with Rabat under the presidency of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, adopted the dates of the next edition of the Festival, which will proceed from the December 6 to 12, 2004.
In addition, within the framework of the new organization of the structures of the Foundation, MISTERS Faiçal Laraichi and Noureddine Sail were appointed deputy vice-presidents. Here the text of the official statement published on this subject: "the board of directors of the Foundation of the International Festival of Film of Marrakech met with the chair His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, Tuesday May 11, 2004 in Rabat.
The Council of the Foundation adopted the dates of the next edition of the International Festival of Film of Marrakech which will be held from the December 6 to 12, 2004.
His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid paid homage in the name of the Foundation to engagement and the work achieved by Mr. André Azoulay, Conseiller of His Majesty the King, who ensured during these two last years the responsibility for deputy vice-president of this institution and led to good port the mission that to His Majesty King Mohammed VI had entrusted to him.
Within the framework of the new organization structures of the Foundation, Messrs Faïçal Laraïchi and Noureddine Sail were appointed vice-presidents delegated respectively in load of the organization and the programs. Mrs. Mélita Toscan Of Plantier remains director of the Festival ".

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid receives Fellini prize awarded to Marrakesh International Film Festival
Marrakech, Dec. 12 - HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, younger brother of HM King Mohammed VI, received here on Sunday, Fellini prize awarded by UNESCO to Marrakesh International Film Festival (Dec. 06-12).
On behalf of all those who believe in this festival and in the ideals it stands for, I wish to express my sincere thanks to His Excellency Mr. Matsuura, UNESCO Director-General, for this noble gesture, whereby the international organization recognizes the innovative character of this event, which contributes to cultural exchange through cinematographic creativity,” said HRH the Prince, chairman of the Foundation of the Marrakesh International Film Festival, in a speech he delivered at the end of the 4th edition of the festival.
“This award is putting wind in our sails, making us more determined than ever to pursue our endeavours, so that this festival may always be a forum for dialogue, aimed at promoting exchange and cultural diversity,” he went on.
This year’s edition of the festival paid tribute to two renowned figures in the world of the cinema, namely to the Italian actress Claudia Cardinale and the Egyptian director, Youssef Chahine.
