Why shouldn't she hold the umbrella? :whistling:

Today 14 horses in total for the AlMaktoums that includes 2 horses for Princess Haya and a few for Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.

That would be a gentlemen's task... but we are talking about Sheikh Mohammed here ;) for non-emirati eyes, he has been quite rude in public very often, with Haya running behind him etc.

But I have to say, he became more sensible in that respect, behaving more "european" at european events towards his wife in the public eye (the public remains suspicious of the "multiple wives" topic anyway), mainly because she is King Abdullah's sister and has been quite known in Europe for her equestrian "career".
In the early years, the public Maktoum appearances at horse racing events were ridiculous, like a male clown parade in ill-fitting clothes.

Might be a gentlemens task but if he is unwilling to do it and she wants to keep dry from the rain, then might as well do it :) She also does not seem to have a problem running behind him as you say most of the time, she tends to look very happy and not bothered.

It seems like Hamdan is lonely without a lady is on his arm. I mean to have a woman by his side with her hand in the crook of his arm and him holding her hand. ...
Is it acceptable for Muslim cultural tradition for a barchelor to show himself on public with a woman he is not married with?
I think not.
There are a lot of cultural traditions around the world. We should respect them all.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum (2nd-R) arrives with Princess Haya of Jordan during day four of Royal Ascot at Ascot racecourse on June 17, 2011 in Ascot, England.

She didnt say that he shouldnt married with his lady. Sure, he has to be married with her.

Haya's look looks promising but the coat looks quite big on her. Cant wait for more pictures.

Yes I was speaking IF Hamdan were married that is how i think he would escort her around.

Princess Haya outfit of choice I like it, I think it is her to old for personality. A different color maybe would suit her personality better....also make her husband look like he has more of one :D I've nothing against Sheikh Mo he comes across as a grump.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the Dubai royals, but I'm guessing he always has a lot on his mind a lot of responsibilities.

i still think sheikh mo should've been holding the umbrella or have someone else do it for the two of them...after all she's still "the lady" at the event...n he needs to be a "real gentleman" about such things at public events...imo...

Well, Personally I don't see Sheikh Mohammed changing his attitude towards his wife or anyone in public, he is who he is and he seems to be fine with it. More like this is who I am.

A few more pictures of Sheikh Mohammed, Princess Haya and Sheikh Hamdan

But Gentlewomen. It's so cute how she cares that moh doesn't get wet ( I wouldn't be that nice and just hold the umbrella over my own head ;)) Pretty much shows what a lovely caring woman Haya is :)

She is holding the umbrella over her own head. The umbrellas to the left and right of her husband are closer to him than hers so if anyone is covering his head is it those two gentlemen. I am sure she does not need to be concerned about whether he gets wet or not.

Of course Nahla... I really love the personality of Princess Haya, she is always caring and sweet but....it is really sad that gentlemen are extinguised :(

no pictures for them in the 5th day ?

Besides 2010, the couple have attended the last day of the races.
Maybe they didn't have any horses running therefore decided there was no need to attend.

she put this dres before right?
& hat before

the hat is recycled ; did you notice all the men in the pic wearing ties same color like haya dress :)

The blue is the colors of godolphin so not very surprised :)
They do indeed look bored, not liking Haya's outfit, ages her quite a bit IMO.

I crack up about the previous umbrella comments!

I personally see nothing wrong with Princess Haya holding the umbrella for Sheikh Mohammed. Maybe it's just a simple intangible way of saying thanks for everything! or I love you/I care about you! or at least let me do this for you! It's something I think any good wife or anyone in general would do for someone they care for unless you'd rather bawl for the concierge who might arrive after the person is drenched!:)
