It's sure now, Queens day 2004 is in the Province Groningen, in the city Groningen and the village Warffum.
Warffum has 2400 resident, Groningen 179.000.
It's the second time that the Queen and her family visit Groninginen, in 1990 visits she the places Haren and Loppersum.

why not bring new baby! if people would love to bring newly baby on Queen's day but its would respect Princess Maxima's that not fair!
like Princess Diana who bring baby William to Australia and New Zealand in 1983 for state trip that fair game! because Diana wont wanted leave Wills without mom! you never knew it!

There is a difference in a baby that is a newborn like Princess Catharina Amalia, and one who is over a year old, like I believe William was when he went to Australia with his parents. I am sure I would not have included C.A. if I were Maxima. She did the right thing by leaving her at home with a nanny.

I don't think such a trip would be fair to a young baby.

didn't Diana later (much later) make comments on how hectic and hard the trip was by bringing William along?
Not to mention...isn't Groningen IN the Netherlands (I am guessing...so if I am wrong PLEASE let me know) and Pc W-A and Pcss Maxima won't really be too far away from the baby? Is this a 'day trip' event?
It's not like they are going halfway around the world and leaving the baby at home :)

The distance between Groningen and The Hague is 235,4 km.
So it is a day-trip......I don't think that they go travel by shanks' pony. :P

I' m aware of the distance, no reason to be sarcastic. I still don't think the noise and the excitment etc. is appropriate for a newborn. They like to their quiet and like to sleep.

I don't think anyone meant to be sarcastic to you. I think someone asked about the distance that's all. I was wondering the same since I have no concept of where these places are in relation to The Hauge.
I agree with you. Since it seems to be a day trip I don't see any reason why CP Maxima would not leave the baby with the nanny. It seems logical to me, the baby is young & the parents will be home within a day.

Tomorrow is Queen's Day in the Netherlands. Particularly poignant this year with the loss of Queen Juliana shortly before Easter.

Stay tuned for this thread for lots of great pictures!

Well, there was a dance group of children demonstrating what they learned. Suddenly a couple of children runned to the royal family and picked Maxima, Laurentien and Marilene to dance with them.
The song they danced on was "Let me entertain you" from Robbie Williams
