I cannot belive there are only 4 Emirati vets,AFAIK there is also a falcon hospital in UAE and the animals of the Al Maktoum family need a douzen of vets alone-just imagine how many dogs, cats, lions and horses they have! I have seen the stables myself, they had a vet there (I think he is Jordanian) and they have a lot of people who look after their beloved pets.
Veterinary medicine is very difficult and takes many years to study it,just as well you will get your hands dirty so maybe that´s why it´s not a popular job for UAE nationals. It may also be a less elegant job-UAE nationals only want to take jobs that are held in high regard and nothing were you get wet or use your physical strength too much.
