Wonder who the elderly gentleman escorting Sarah was.
She's wearing those butterfly shoes - and the blue fingernails are, I suppose, trendy. She's wearing lovely jewelry, IMO.

There is an feature in Hello magazine this week about an project to help victims of human trafficking which is being supported by Andrew, Sarah and the girls. Andrew was in india last year and was introduced to a woman who was trying to help these victims. He rang Sarah and got Sarah to talk to this lady. They agreed to help and Key to Freedom was formed. Sarah and Eugenie visited privately in March. Topshop agreed to stock sarongs/scarves made by these women. Andrew donated £10,000 from his charitiable trust to kick start it all. Love the scarves, hope it goes well for them.

What a great project. Human trafficking doesn't get much attention, but the patronage should help.

I think its amazing that the entire York family is involved in this in some way. IIRC, Sarah is also involved in the Not For Sale human trafficking campaign. This is a serious concern affecting our societies and definitely needs to be brought to the attention of us all.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when they're all around the breakfast table.

The Queen has invited Sarah to Balmoral before, but that was in 2004 and 2008, before the cash for access scandal, Sarah's Oprah show, etc. It's interesting that even after all that, the Queen is allowing Sarah at Balmoral.

The BRF, as we know, has to be forward-thinking. I wonder if the Queen is thinking ahead to a time when she won't be around anymore, and has decided that it's better to keep Sarah within the "protection" of the royal fold than let her go off and do her own thing.

Also, I think the royal family has learned from the mistakes made with Sarah and Diana. Kate had more support and more time to adjust to royal life. It's possible that the Queen has realized Sarah could have benefited from more support in the past (and still can).

Agree. If Diana was alive I bet she would be invited to balmoral also.

Oh, I didn't know that Sarah has been invited before. I think you're right about the Queen thinking ahead. She knows that Sarah is a big part of Andrew, Eugenie and Bea's lives and it does no good to shut her out.

I'm glad that Sarah is getting support and hope that she continues to straighten out her life.

I wonder who leaked the story to the tabs since HM is not in the habit of announcing her private house guests.

I was thinking that as someone had to have leaked it for photographers to be at the airport as there aren't ever any photos of Anne and Edward plus family arriving.

I always wonder if the Queen does this as a birthday present for Beatrice (weren't the other two occasions she visited just after her birthdays). After all I'm sure Beatrice doesn't need or want for anything so maybe this is the present you get for a grandaughter who has everything.

There may have been photographers there but they were probably no newsworthy enough to be printed. I imagine if Andrew and the girls arrived without Sarah then the photos would still have been taken but not published but Sarah being there makes them newsworthy.

My thought was tied to Beatrice's birthday as well and/ or an engagement announcement of Beatrice and Dave Clark. There are family arrangements to discuss, and it would be important for all to have Sarah included.

While I think it would be nice if Andrew and Sarah got back together and remarried I don't see it happening while Phillip still lives. I mean, if she can't be there when he shows up tomorrow then I doubt he'd support her being his official daughter-in-law again.

I'm not sure Prince Philip still harbor really bad feeling towards Sarah or would treat her badly if she's there when he arrives.

When I heard of the Yorks staying at Balmoral, those were my first thoughts as well. If Beatrice and Dave Clark are planning an engagment and eventually a marriage, Sarah will be there for the celebrations. It would be practically impossible to make up plans without her. So some time with the queen and the whole York family seems logical.

Great idea (if true) but they are obviously discussing "it" without Dave.

My thoughts were that they decided to allow Sarah to attend to have a 25th birthday dinner with Beatrice and The Queen.

Prince Andrew has mentioned in a interview that The Queen and Sarah do enjoy talking to each other and about things he knows nothing about.

I like the idea with the engagement. I need a new Royal Wedding so bad (I know it won´t be broadcasted, but still) :flowers:

I'm not sure about a wedding but you never know what the future holds for Andrew & Sarah.

Like many others, I do think that Andrew and Sarah will get married again, but I don't think they are in a rush to do so. If it's true that prince Philip is firmly against the idea, I think they will wait until he's no longer with us. But anyway, I think it's going to happen - perhaps in 10 years or so?

Maybe he's already signed off on the plans? If he's like many men, it'll be Just tell me when to show up!
;)

As others have suggested, I always got the impression that Prince Philip was / is the main barrier to a rapprochement of Sarah and the family, and that the Queen always had a soft spot for her, despite her problems over the years.

I think this is fantastic news for Sarah - first time in Balmoral since that horrible tabloid entrapment story. It always breaks my heart to see her excluded from these events (and it must be really tough for Beatrice and Eugenie!), so I'm just really happy for her that this is happening!

How often does Mark Philips attend royal family events if his own children aren't involved? He is, afterall, exactly the same - the divorced spouse of one of the Queen's children and the other parent of two of her grandchildren.

I wouldn't say that it's exactly the same. Anne is remarried to another man (Tim Laurence). Andrew isn't.
