Giorgio, can you help one¿s truffles grow: Philip¿s fungi crop fails again so he calls in Italian experts | Mail Online
Quote:
Prince Philip has called in experts from Italy to help him establish a truffle plantation at Sandringham.
The Duke of Edinburgh has been desperate to set up a one-acre ‘truffiere’ since 2007. He even spent £5,000 on special truffle-impregnated trees but they failed to produce.
Now specialists Giorgio Remedia and Gianluigi Gregori from Acqualagna in central Italy have been called in.
They will fly in to carry out an investigation on the soil at Sandringham on Thursday and advise Prince Philip on the best way to produce the sought-after fungi.

Lady Gaga ranks higher than Queen in Forbes top ten list of influential women | Mail Online
Quote:
One is head of the Commonwealth, whose influence stretches across 54 states and takes in almost a third of the world’s population.
The other is an outrageous pop star notorious for outfits including a dress apparently made of raw meat.
Yet, according to a new list of the most powerful women on the planet, The Queen comes far behind Lady Gaga.

Queen Elizabeth cruise liner: The Buckingham Palace of the high seas | Mail Online
Quote:
But this is something special — for the Queen especially. One of the iconic moments of her reign was the day in 1967 she launched the fabled QE2 at the John Brown shipyard on the Clyde. As a floating advertisement for royalty and Britain, the liner was unsurpassed for the next four decades.
Now comes her replacement, alas not built in a British yard, but in every other respect as British as they come. Her Majesty is said to be ‘thrilled’ to make her acquaintance.

Here is a short video of the ceremony from BBC news. Her Majesty sounds a little hoarse to me but looks lovely in her blue ensemble, especially the diamond brooch.

Wonderful appearance, with that great colour and the wonderful brooch,
I feel we haven't seen her enough during the last months, of course the
summer break, but seeing these pics, I notice how I've missed her

Has Russo pointed out...I am sure HM doesn't care that Lady Gaga outranks her. Fame is fleeting but HM will be remembered long after Lady Gaga's career has come and gone.
Don't get me wrong...I like her music but she needs to evolve with the times.
But back on topic....How great does the Queen look. I love love that brooch! And the smile of course.

Thanks for those marvellous pictures !! I nearly missed the whole affair due to my house move :-))
How does the Queen do it ?? She performs effortlessly and seems to become more gracious, the older she gets.

Good genes, good diet and a couple of gin and tonics thrown in for good measure.
