Indeed she does... I love her brooch as well. May I ask which one it is?

Wouldn't it be great if she wore this outfit for Christmas service!

I'll second that suggestion, though I fear she might attract some Santa Claus jokes!

HM has been wearing some very smart and colourful outfits in recent years, and she looks wonderful in them. For too long older ladies have worn drab outfits on the basis they thought they were too old for bright colours, but HM's example has put paid to that idea.

Oh for sure, Mermaid! Perhaps you could write to Her Majesty and suggest she do just that. flowers for you, as well. :)

I think, because we tend to look "washed out" as we age, that HM is wearing those lovely bright colors. I think she looks lovely!

It's a modern gold, diamond and ruby spray - one she helped to design herself. Not worn too often - maybe a couple of times a year. You may remember it from the Kentucky Derby.

Thank you so much, GillW. Now that you mentioned it I do remember her wearing it at the Kentucky Derby. It is lovely but not one of my favorites.

Perhaps she'd better leave any ermine accessories at home, then.

Her Majesty has something in common with Picasso at the moment, first the blue period, now the red...

I'm just thankful she's not into cubism or fauvism. . . .

Well, I'm looking forward which ideas her designers will have in the upcoming weeks... Philip seems as if he had one of his witty moments in the third pic...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/6488123/Meat-off-the-menu-as-Windsor-Castle-goes-vegan.html

"Meat off the menu as Windsor Castle goes vegan."

"Tomorrow, (3rd November 2009) Windsor Castle goes vegan for the day, with a banquet for 200 bigwigs, including UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon, the Grand Mufti of Egypt and Archbishop Valentine Mokiwa, President of the All Africa Conference of Churches."

I just tested the link and it worked.

That's true

Prince Philip talks with United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon
at Windsor Castle, Berkshire, on November 3, 2009. Prince Philip is founder
of the Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) and was hosting a
celebration event at the castle for 200 participants including leaders of
the world's faiths and secular organisations.

Ooo, how very regal Her Majesty looks in her Royal purple ensemble! She just seems to be glowing in the latest photos of her attending events.
