of Edinburgh, presents new Colours to the 1st Battalion Irish Guards
at Windsor Castle, Berkshire, on May 6, 2009. The 1st Battalion Irish
Guards moved from Aldershot to Windsor to be under command of
London District in February 2009. The Battalion will Troop the Colour
at this year's Sovereign's Birthday Parade on June 13.

Am I being really thick over this medal thing? Isn't Trinidad and Tobago a republic? Where the Queen isn't Head of State?
Read the Daily Mail comments, people seem to be raging about it being something stolen from our country's heritage....but Trinidad isn't our country.

It is. I just realized that.
I do like how the George Medal is "clearly very Anglocentric," though, as if it was about St. George and not King George.
