I wish him getting well soon.... And by the way, I am totally touched by his decisions to keeping going his engagements this week.
But it is understandable because both Highgrove Shop, Oxford Islamic Centre, the environment, Royal Cornwall Show, Queen's birthday Pardade...etc are really closest affairs to his heart.

It's a shame that he will miss the event, it is a bold decision for him to not go. Will Camilla be going alone then?

According to the article Camilla will be travelling with Charles to Scotland so she will also be absent from the races and the Garter Ceremony.

Instead of cancelling them, he will take three days off at the start of next week. The Prince will travel to Birkhall, his private home on the Queen's Balmoral Estate in Scotland, with his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Prince Charles has bee in Bath, Somerset today, June 9, to open
the Highgrove Shop. A 75-year-old lady from Bath who cheekily
asked for a kiss from the Prince after meeting him three times
previously and walking away without a peck on the cheek

BBC News - Prince Charles kisses royal follower in Bath

I bet that made her day. Hope Prince Charles doesn't pass the chest infection to her.

Prince Charles met members of 'first responders' (those who were involved in
responding to the aftermath of the shootings) at West Cumberland Hospital
on June 11, 2010 in Whitehaven, England.
12 people were shot dead and a further 25 people injured after 52 year old
man Derrick Bird went on a rampage with a shotgun in West Cumbria before
killing himself.

A person with a chest infection does not make exceptions to get up and go to this and that . They take bed rest and antibiotics. I am having difficulty understanding this.

I don't.

I currently am fighting a chest infection and I am still going to work but even my school is insisting that I miss the Athletics Carnival this week.

I would suggest that Charles' doctors are the best ones to judge what events he can do and what he can't.

It would have been nice if Camilla had attended as well.
