He also visited Nottingham University Hospitals Trust (City Campus) - where I work - and was within 50 yards of my office. I apologise for letting you all down, but I didn't leave my desk to see him. He's the one Royal I wouldn't walk that far to see, - Sorry! The rest of my office (all but 3 of us anyway) went to watch him visit the patient kitchens and all came back very excited & thrilled by seeing him.

The Prince of Wales has called for the UK to "derive strength" from its diversity, in a speech in Oxford.
He addressed a reception held by the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies at Magdalen College on Wednesday night

AN ILL-ADVISED joke at the expense of the royal family would once have left the unfortunate comedian rehoused into the Tower of London

WalesOnline - News - Wales News - Did you hear the one about the Welsh comedian, Prince Charles and the Tower of London?

AN ILL-ADVISED joke at the expense of the royal family would once have left the unfortunate comedian rehoused into the Tower of London

From that article:
So it’s little wonder the award-winning Welsh comic Rhod Gilbert sought the counsel of his fellow performers before poking fun at Prince Charles at the Royal Variety Performance a few weeks ago."

(snip information about the joke, which wasn't that funny IMHO - the article continues:)

"Gilbert also revealed that meeting the heir to the throne after the performance was equally as nerve-racking.
“He said something to me in Welsh which I didn’t catch,” he confessed.
“I just assumed it to be hilarious and threw my head right back and laughed uproariously.
“I’m pretty certain it wasn’t a death threat.”

And now my opinion: why is it that prince Harry gets negative press for a joke he tried to crack on a comedian after a performance (if the story is true at all!) when an actual comedian from Wales is not even able to talk to his Prince in Welsh? Kudos to the Prince that he's trying to speak Welsh even though he was used in a joke! :flowers:

Looking at those pics, I've got to admit, I can completely see Charles as a doting grandfather.
