Rupert Everett's Royal Inspiration
Why Camilla Is The Star Of St Trinian's

Actor Rupert Everett, who plays snooty headmistress Camilla Fritton in the new St Trinian’s movie, has revealed where he got his inspiration for the character.
Everett, 47, has told friends that he based her on the Duchess of Cornwall.

I think the actor (who plays two roles, a male and a female) was inspired by Camilla's strength and regalness. Or he just likes her and knew the article would be brought to her attention.

I would definitely say Camilla is NOT snooty or snotty or mean due to her position. I have never met her directly, but even standing across a room from her, Camilla reads very different than other Royal wives. Note: I was never as close to Diana and thus am exclusing her from the reference.

No hornsen you didn't miss anything. The actor doesn't even suggest that Camilla is snooty.
"Everett is quoted in Britain's Daily Express as saying: "I really enjoy dressing up like this, I call it my Parker Bowles look".
So, not based on the Duchess of Cornwall at all, based on the image the media worked so hard to portray of the former Mrs Parker Bowles.

Is Camilla Recovering?

Just read an article that Camilla isn't recovering as she should be. How are the reports coming out of the UK dealing with this? Very concerned.

Gee, one throwaway comment blown up into a major scandalous article.

I just can't imagine!

Sometimes I think the American tabloid media cut their teeth on Royal press.

ETA: Kimetha, Charles has used some not-so-"green" methods of travel lately. From what I tell, for the comfort of the Duchess. This has led to speculation that she is being "coddled" because she is not recovering well. Camilla just had MAJOR surgery. It will be awhile before she is comfortable in her bed, let alone trying to accompany Charles---so of course the media is going to make a big thing of it. *snort* The really mean ones will have her dying soon. There is no winning in just trying to heal like everyone else!

Please don´t panic!
I think this is only ´good stuff´ for the yellow press.

Camilla´s son Tom said in an TV interview, when asked how his mother was feeling after the hysterectomy:
´´She´s going on fantastically. She´s a tough lady!´´
( from ´Hello´- magazine)

From all accounts she is doing very well indeed. a little sore perhaps. The nurse is probably just a precaution, it is not as if Birkhall is only a few minutes from any hospital!

Question Brooke Hospital

I'm delighted to see that the Duchess of Cornwall has become President of the Brooke Hospital for animals. It is a "UK-based charity committed to helping working equine animals and their owners in some of the poorest parts in the world", something to which I will gladly donate. I'm happy to see that she partonises it. I have an enormous soft spot for animals.

The Guardian, naturally, had a mildly snarky write-up about Camilla's time being lent to a "horse hospital", when Diana went to visit cancer patients. Have you seen the images in Majesty Magazine for adverts about the Brooke Hospital? It tears me up just to see that poor donkey.

I want to visit the Brooke's website, but it does not load. Can anyone access it? Is it just so overloaded that I can't get on right now?

Brooke hospital this is a great english institution, 70 years old, treats 500.000 working horses, donkeys and mules every year and advises owners on how to take care of them.

Saw a programme on tv about this organisation and if an animal is too old and sick to go back to work they have a rule that before it is put down it will have 4 days of perfect happiness, lots of food and relaxation. And when they are put down it happens with a sort of bullit and there is no fear or panic, the animal just drops down and the others in the stable do not realize what happened (in contrast to being taken to the slaughterhouse).

from their website:
Our work reaches around 500,000 working horses, donkeys and mules every year.
We work in Egypt, Jordan, India and Pakistan, and in Afghanistan, Kenya and Guatemala through our partnership projects.
95% (over 500 people) of our staff work ‘in the field’ and are nationals of those countries.
We operate 15 clinics and 49 mobile veterinary teams.
Our veterinary treatment is free.
Between six and twenty people might depend upon one working equine animal for their survival.
The Brooke is the first organisation in its field to scientifically measure its work - essential if we are to share solutions with partner organisations.
Around 80% of ailments suffered by working equine animals are caused by owner ignorance and poverty: they are therefore preventable.
Teaching good equine care underpins our work: by working alongside owners we find practical solutions that last.
We train farriers, saddlers and harness-makers, as well as the animal owners themselves.
Brooke methods are simple, inexpensive and can be learned and implemented by local people.
We build water troughs and shade shelters.
We don’t prosecute, campaign or get involved in politics.
We are forging new partnerships all the time with other organisations
We believe that working animals should be rewarded with consideration, care and relief of suffering.
Teaching kindness to animals is at the heart of what we do.

A while ago it was reported that Rupert Everett, who plays snooty headmistress Camilla Fritton in the new St Trinian’s movie, will base his character on the Duchess of Cornwall.

Here is the first picture of Rupert in the movie, side to side with the one of the Duchess.I must say he did master some resemblance, particularly the hairstyle.

I hope a similar hairstyle will be the only resemblace...i don´t want to see more comparison of the Duchess with the´snooty headmistress´...

I don't want comparisions with the snooty headmistress as well.
However I think Rupert's initial comment was intended to explain who he wanted his character be like - in appearance.

Was it the article about the Queen turning down her request for a royal funeral? That was the last one I had read stating that she wasn't recovering as she should. It said she was released from the hospital because her health is more grave than they're letting on. She & Charles are talking about planning her funeral. She's accepted that she'll never be Queen but she wants to be buried like one and the Queen said no.

Oh please. "She wants to be buried like [a Queen]". Where does this rubbish come from?

Either from the same demented minds that think Camilla is the devil incarnate, or, more probably, it's from the "it's been a really slow celebrity week so lets improvise" journos.

Fear not, the late Anna Nicole's latest secret exposed will knock this one off the front page.

Either way, it's always good to know just how whacked some tabloids really are!

Perhaps we could come up with a 'Whackometer Scale' for all such exposes!

This has got to be the funniest 'story' I have heard in days! (No offence to you RubyPrincess168)
