Dreadful portrait of Camilla.. Nose too wide, eyes too small.

The noses on all the royals are larger/wider than actuality. (He clearly needs to redo all the portraits.)

Prince Phillip’s looks almost lifelike.

Wow - that's awful. In the past Stone has painted much of the royal family and done some beautiful work. See:
Richard Stone, Royal Portrait Painter

However, do scroll back to the Countess of Wessex for his somewhat unsettling take on Sophie. Lovely dress - but that face has a lot going on.

I don't think the one of Camilla looks like her face at all. And he made the Countess of Wessex look like she was sneering!
I really don't like the one of Prince Charles either.

The video narrator says the Duchess of Cornwall liked her portrait, but surely she was only being polite!

The Duchess of Cornwall has attended the London International Horse Show at Olympia yesterday, December 19, 2012.

Today, January 29, the Duchess of Cornwall made a visit to the 4th Battalion, The Rifles, in Wiltshire. She visited the battalion during their pre-deployment training and saw some mission-specific training, opened the Officers' Mess and joined soldiers and their families at a reception. Not the best weather, but Camilla kept her smile :)

l The Duchess of Cornwall’s role as an unsung champion of the victims of rape and sexual abuse will come to the forefront next week when she makes an impassioned speech calling for a fundamental change in society’s attitudes.
For the past three years, almost unnoticed, the Duchess has travelled the country hearing the stories of rape victims, meeting campaigners and talking to officers from the specialist rape unit of the Metropolitan Police.
On Tuesday she will hold a reception at Clarence House for groups dealing with rape and sexual abuse in which she will speak of her passion for a subject that, campaigners say, is far too often ignored by

She visited the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre in Croydon, South London, in 2009. Her host that day, Yvonne Traynor, chief executive of Rape Crisis South London, said: “Rape and sexual violence is not a cuddly subject. For someone in the public eye who is brave enough to support us and talk about the subject is amazing. She has listened to some horrible stories. She has not flinched. It has really affected her to understand what is going on.”

Since 2009 the Duchess has visited nine Rape Crisis and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) in Britain. Although the visits are not secret, they attract very little publicity because of the issues of confidentiality involved.

I can't print out the entire story because of copyright issues but it is a great piece by the Times. Here is the link but access is generally restricted.

Thank you for the summary, cepe.
It's not a light or easy issue to be involved with, and I am glad the Duchess supports the cause of the victims.

On a different note, those women are really brave to share their stories in a bid to punish the culprits and prevent future cases.

Picture of the Duchess at a Rape Crisis Centre - the look in her eyes shows to me that she is moved by what she is hearing.

That for me is one more reason to love the Duchess of Cornwall. Her charity interests are right in line with a lot of causes dear to my heart.

I'm glad she's taken on this particular issue.

Thank you for the summary. The Duchess earns more and more respect and admiration from me with this particular cause.

Those women are incredibly brave for choosing to speak up, and I am sincerely glad someone as high-profile as the Duchess is supporting the cause.
Well done, Your Highness!

Let's face it, it's not an easy cause to support and to speak about. I think the Duchess is doing a wonderful job, with humanity and dignity.
Well done indeed.

I cannot speak from experience on this matter but I do know that when women go through something life so shattering and traumatic as rape and sexual abuse, its impact is one that for the most part sends a woman into a feeling of isolation and self recrimination that is very difficult to come back from.

For the Duchess of Cornwall to address these issues and give her support physically and verbally to the women facing these issues is a major cry out to all women that they're not alone and that there are places they can go and people that will support them should they need it. I think its very commendable.

I'm glad that she actually spoke to victims to find out what would help them. This is such a worthwhile cause and I really admire Camilla for getting involved with it.

I agree, I like that Camilla & Catherine are taking on issues that royal ladies weren't allowed to take on in the past. Rape and drugs aren't easy issues to tackle.

Diana was very involved with drug charities so Kate is hardly breaking new ground.

Camilla's support for rape crisis is something I admire and not easy for anyone to be involved with.

I mean, in the past like in The Queen's day. Now the royal women can tackle those hard issues and I think that's great.

The Queen was praised for going to a leper colony in her day. Queen Victoria set the example of having a smallpox injection.

Royals have taken on the hard issues within their own times.

Regardless of who did what first, drug and rape causes are very hard to take on and I admire Kate, Camilla and any other royal that chooses to highlight these issues.

It seems like a small thing but it really does make a difference in the lives of these women and children. Our volunteer group had a similar initiative for the mothers and children who lived in rescue housing – escaping situations of abuse and violence. And it was something that everyone got involved in --the moms in our group collected items and the kids made up the bags and delivered them. Kudos to the Duchess.

The Duchess of Cornwall looks really nice, especially in the first picture.
I rather like the fact she appears to be promoting education and reading at every opportunity; the importance of both should not be underestimated.
