The BBC is a left wing rag.

It's a term of endearment

My experience as a media writer tells me it's actually a simple answer and not one designed to be disrespectful, but rather to be expedient and to fulfill the objective of the article/story/headline.

Everyone knows the name Kate Middleton.

The name "Duchess of Cambridge" is not as immediately recognizable and requires an additional descriptor such as "wife of Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge" or some such.

"Duchess Kate" or "Duchess Catherine" is (a) wrong in terms of style and (b) wrong in terms of how it sounds, it has an "off key ring" to the ear, if you will.

She is not yet a Princess so that cannot be used.

YMMV

Duchess pays tribute.

Duchess of Cambridge 'saddened' at death of 15-year-old boy she met on Far East tour | UK News | Express.co.uk - Home of the Daily and Sunday Express

Sad story. I'm glad the Duchess was able to make this little boy's dream come true

A number of posts have been removed.

Discussion topics ranging across eating disorders, anorexia, muscle mass, unhealthy athletes, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Hendricks have little or no relevance to the Duchess of Cambridge current events.

Thanks for everyone's understanding and cooperation.

No but the BBC is a mouthpiece for the left and the socialists.

According to the CC, Catherine does not have any engagements in November. She is not even listed as attending the service of laying wreaths on Remembrance Sunday, though she will obviously attend. Sophie is listed as going, so I found it odd that Catherine wasn't listed.

I have always found it strange that William & Catherine isn't listed in the official engagements on the Monarchy site. They are listed in the Court Circular though. I think they should be added in the official engagement list on the main site as well. Charles & Camilla is, so why not William & Catherine?

They are. Their recent tour was listed and past engagements have been as well. The list rarely gets updated for engagements that appear within a few weeks of the event happening. Things that are planned well in advance appear on the engagements list.

The listing of Future Events for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge/Prince Harry and the POW and Duchess of Cornwall involve a number of offices - hence the different notice/timing before hand. The Prince/Duchess have their own office. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do also - but also coordinate via the Prince of Wales' office.

And then Welcome to the official website of the British Monarchy aggregates everything.

No wonder some appearances have a longer lead time than others.

I don't think that this article gives us new information, but the headline is an interesting positioning statement.

I have always thought, whether or not the Duke of Cambridge re-ups with the military, that the Duchess of Cambridge would take on more work. She is an active woman and with a base in London, she will be able to do more than she did from the home in Anglesey. She seems a gamer and willing to work hard for the RF. Heaven knows, the public can't wait. Good on her!

Cannot believe there haven't been any ridiculous remarks about how the previously-posted news story, if true, is about time.

The BRF have certainly known how to ease Catherine into her role, and her ease at engagements is probably a reflection of that.

Yes! BP learned that to throw the babe into the pond and see if it swam was not so productive. I love how Catherine has been given time to develop, opportunities to polish her skills and warm support from the BRF. But then, she has given back warmth, humor and support in kind.

I applaud The Duchess of Cambridge for putting her best foot forward on taking on her official engagements and being brave and making her speeches with such professionalism. She's really trying her best but I think she will only be able to do more and take on more if her and William become full-time royals. Right now she's doing her best but unless she and William become full-time royals, she will want to be with her husband in Wales.

I'm just hoping the Cambridges will take up full-time royal duties by next year. I think Catherine will continue to do a beautiful job.

Oh, I have no doubt that snarky comments will be coming in from the usual suspects. Just give it time . On a more serious note, I'm glad that the BRF chose to let Catherine adapt to her job gradually. It allowed her to hone her skills, and really understand what it was all about. She researched her own charities, and therefore, ended up with causes that are close to her heart. I think the fact that she's passionate about her causes lets her truly shine and be herself. She's wonderful with children, and some of her causes cater to that. As time goes on, she'll only get better, and that is saying something, because if I didn't know it, I would have thought that she was born into a royal family, or a high profile one. She has poise, grace, dignity and a big heart. What else could one want from a future Queen Consort?

Thank you for posting this Dman. Heidi's a remarkable double to the Duchess. It would be interesting to see what her mannerisms and so are like when she's not being "Kate."
