Well, time is not our friend! As one ages, you naturally lose the lips you used to have. I have no problem with (well done) touch ups. ;-P

"She’s always maintained a close relationship with Prince Andrew, but now 'the Firm’ seems to have allowed her back in the fold, last summer inviting her to holiday with her daughters, Princesses Beatrice, 20, and Eugenie, 18, on the Balmoral estate for the first time since that notorious toe-sucking incident 16 years ago." What that has to do with the film?...it appears as thought the interviewer or copy writer or whatever you call the person that wrote this articel, put this paragraph in because it starts with "she's" not with "I've" so it goes to show that the media keeps it all out there.

To be perfectly honest, I dont think she has nearly as much control over 'speaking to the press' as some of you think. I saw a thing on youtube the other day, where she had a camera crew show up at the luggage carousel the week of Camilla and Charles' wedding and basically follow her around the carousel asking questions about C&C and the BRF. Sarah kept diplomatically saying as little as possible, but if people are going to follow you with video cameras for hours, eventually the network will get a sound bite. And then they will play it 50 times a day and put it on the front page.

Plus, reporters will ask the same questions over and over again until they get some kind of a responce. Not many of us have to deal with that and don't know how we'd react in the same situation.

I'm honestly of two minds about Sarah. I do think that there's a certain guilessness about her. I don't think that she's nearly as manipulative of the press as Diana was, for example.

Her parenting style worries me, and her talking about how she's "available." And if she takes opportunities to talk about her ex-inlaws and ex-husband inspite of not being asked direct questions about them, that's not right.

She's boisterous and indiscrete and all those things that we were told was a "breath of fresh air" all those years ago. However, I can't entirely dismiss her either.

That's all very well but doesn't explain the amount of interviews she appears to do. As she basically said in the BBC clip, she is out there and as far as she is concerned people shouldn't have a problem with her 'washing her dirty laundry in public', because that is what she does, who she is.
That's fine as the mother of Peter Piper, not if you are the mother of two princesses. I also worry at the supreme confidence that she considers herself to be a 'good mother'.

Two quick points about the BBC interview (I just watched it): firstly, as far as I could tell (I might have missed something) whenever the topic of the royal family surfaced, it was because the interviewer (s) raised it. Granted, Sarah didn't slam the interviewers for mentioning her ex-royal status and responded willingly enough to their questions, but she wasn't the one who actually brought up the topic.

Second, I feel that Sarah is held to a double standard. People get quite annoyed whenever an interviewer calls her "The Duchess of York" when she is actually now "Sarah, Duchess of York," and there are complaints whenever she is perceived to use her ex-royal status for personal advantage, but people also demand that she behave appropriately as the mother of two princess (eg. Skydragon's argument that it's fine for "the mother of Peter Piper" to air her "dirty laundry" in public...but not fine for Sarah, because of her royal connections!).

It seems that Sarah is asked to forget that she is the mother of two royal princesses at the same time as she is asked to constantly remember it.

No she didn't raise it but she didn't refuse to answer, had they wanted to ask probing questions, as she said has no problems with her tell all attitude.

I can't say I have a great problem with anything she is called but, as Sarah would be quick to point out that her daughters are Princess B & E, it would be nice if she also corrected the interviewers regarding her own name. I remember the Ruby Wax programme, where Sarah said she was still HRH.

A poor example to say that it is fine for the mother of PP to wash their dirty linen in public, I think it is a horrible trait that seems to be growing in popularity hence the rise of magazines that specialise in it and apparently the people that read them.

IMO, anyone in Sarahs position should bear in mind, before speaking or getting involved in questionable pursuits, their childs position.

It seems, to me, that Sarah wants it both ways, to be seen as the mother of two princesses and afforded the luxury of using her former royal status and be seen as an ordinary person who can do/say anything she wants.

Doesn't only seem to you but also seems to be, perfectly summed up why Sarah comes up on top of the "most annoying" list again and again. She has made a business out of living off the past (commenting on old stories what somehow makes people still see Sarah as a royal = creates interest in her) in combination with living off the presence (that is when her daughters come into play). Her daughters are her daughters but especially the first part of her business plan, living off the past, makes her a shameful attention seeker in my eyes and I wonder why the BBC feels the need to give her a forum for telling some of the old stories she loves to pull out of her hat whenever it is beneficial for her own purposes.

Folks, accept it: Miss Ferguson is already very much part of the media scene - as producer, TV-show host, star of docu soaps and author of books. So she has to play along if she wants to keep her position. I don't like how she plays her hand, but it's according to the rules of the game.
But I wish it would happen what this article seems to suggest:
What would Queen Victoria say? Beatrice and Eugenie hold court at premiere... then take mum Fergie clubbing | Mail Online - Sarah not longer as Duchess of York but very American-style professional as "Miss Ferguson". I guess one can get used to reading sentences like this:
"The Young Victoria, a film which charts the ascension of Queen Victoria to the throne and her romance with Prince Albert, was 49-year-old co-producer Miss Ferguson's idea." Or that:
"Beatrice makes a fleeting movie debut in a non-speaking role as a lady-in-waiting to the monarch, her great-great-great-great-grandmother.
Asked about working with her daughter, Miss Ferguson said: 'It was great.' "

Okay, if you feel that way I do admit it's not a double standard (on your part anyway) and I do agree that people too readily expose all the details of their life nowadays for the media. I don't like the reality TV phenomenon. But I think that Jo of Palatine is right: Sarah is part of the media scene: she uses the media to gain publicity for her favourite causes, and they use (for lack of a better word) her to draw people to their stories. After all, Sarah didn't marry Andrew intentionally looking for fame: it was the media who brought her fame.

Is all that talking that plumped up her lips or she had some work done?
Sarah seems to be capitalising on her connection to the royal family to earn an income and so far the media is happy to oblige. Until she is no longer interesting and then it will all come to a screeching halt. JMHO

I wondered that myself, Odette. Maybe it's just her lipstick application??

Yes, it could be one of those "plumping" lipsticks. I like the look on her, personally.

The city of Lowell has been visited by both a Prince (Charles), and a King (B.B), so it was only a matter of time before the Mill City played host to a duchess.

IMHO, Sarah's hair looks like it's losing it's 'plumpness'. It really is getting thinner and I still wish she would do Something more stylish with it. I really liked it when she first cut it...I know, much to Andrew's chagrin. :( It looked so young and fresh...

Ahhh well they do look very similar but I don't think they chose the right outfit for the occasion, something more too suit their odies may have been better :)
