Was the Queen leading a gathering for the 2 minutes of silence? Or did she just stand there outside so that the public and media could see that she participated?

Probably the latter, although it could be argued that by being there in public she was fulfilling a leadership role.

The Queen quietly stood in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace as London honoured victims of the July 7 bombings with a two-minute silence

Thousands of Londoners poured into the streets in remembrance of those who were killed and injured in the attacks. Above, crowds at King's Cross station, site of one of the bombings

Yes, standing alone was a very powerful symbol as she led the nation in silence. I just wondered how they had arranged the silence, I've seen now on tv tonight that there were manifestations in London of a bigger kind, and of course the obervance of silence in the whole world.

I don't know, but I thinks it's unlikely.

Results have been published today, but they are in a .pdf file and I can't see them because Acrobat Reader doesn't work any more on my computer.

You can see them on the BHTDA site: www.horsedrivingtrials.co.uk
