STATEMENT FROM THE QUEEN FOLLOWING EXPLOSIONS IN LONDON

7 July 2005

The dreadful events in London this morning have deeply shocked us all. I know I speak for the whole nation in expressing my sympathy to all those affected and the relatives of the killed and injured. I have nothing but admiration for the emergency services as they go about their work.

ELIZABETH R
This is so sad!

I hope that, once things have calmed down a bit, she'll visit London and spend some time with survivors and with the rescue crews. The royal family has been criticised for not responding to national disasters in the last few years, and I think it would mean a lot to people to see the Queen in London sometime in the next few days.

I hope she will go.

I wonder what will happen to the WW2 celebrations next Sunday.
The fact that these attacks happened the day after London won the Olympic bid and on the eve of WW2 celebrations makes them even more disgusting.

British queen to visit victims of London's deadly terror bombings
LONDON (AFP) - Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Friday will visit some of the hundreds of people injured in the country's worst peace-time attacks, which left at least 37 dead in London, a royal spokeswoman said.

Nice.

("nice" is too short, so I have to add other words)

I think the World War II's 60th Anniversary may still go ahead but people might wear black and white suits.Or they will not have a big celebration as it was intended to be.

But it is still very sad for the British. They just got the great winning in hosting the 2012 Summer Oympic and then a day later,an attack took a lot of people's life and hundred of people were injuried.

I wish GOD BLESS PEOPLE WHO DIED IN THE BLAST REST IN PEACE!

I send my regards to Britain but from what I have seen, Britons are strong people with an amazing resolve. :D Back on topic, I'm glad the Queen is going to visit the injured people. I wish she or Charles or William would get out and ride a bus or the subway to show that since they can do it, it's good and safe. Also this is my 100th post. Yea!

The death toll is now up to 50+ and gaining. I can only express my good wishes to the British people and my admiration- the British truly are tough as nails.

The British? What about the Israelis who experience more terror per capita than any western nation, and have done so for years.

Yes that is awful to. But now we are talking about the British people. One country´s suffering doesn´t make another one´s less important

I don't think this belongs here Bubbette, as this is a board for Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, who are BRITISH royals. Also I don't think you can compare those two things because then you could sadly also take most other nations of this world as example as well. Nearly all european countries, the palestinansian people, iraqi and US people have suffered from terror and killing innocent people. That doesn't make it any better or less sad that yesterday it happened in Britain.

Well that's all it is folks; it's not terrorism--it's just militants. The BBC says so.

:) I really like the outfit, especially the hat. She looks absolutely great.

Wow, Her Majesty looks absolutely smashing! Great colour on her, wonderful hat and so summery and elegant! And Baroness Boothroyd (that fabulous woman whom I admire deeply) looks superb too, great to see her next to the Queen!
