I loved the blazing fire in the background so much I lit my own, though not quite as fancy as Balmoral!

:previous: I just love to see pictures of the Queen in her spare-time clothes, and of course from the rooms at Balmoral.

(I was about to put the above post in the australian thread, but then I saw that you had posted the ITN video here, so I did the same)

I love getting a small glimpse of the rooms at Balmoral. Sandringham and Balmoral are places we don't get to see much, so when these pictures and videos come about, it's a real treat.

I love watching videos of HM out and about with the people. Usually though, what she is wearing is never the first thing I'll notice. Its her face and her smile that I keep my focus on. This is a woman that smiles with her whole face and it is genuine.

Thanks Royal Norway for the video!

:previous: You're welcome! ?

She used to be so spontaneous, but (as I've said many times) that changed a bit after 2012 when she stopped with walkabouts/driving in open cars etc, and started to appear much more reserved when she's out and about. But as one can see, she's still cute as heck, and her smile is to die for.

Her smile is her best accessory. Even more so than her awesome hats, jewelry, and ever present purse :flowers:

The Queen didn't let a little shower dampen her spirits as she rode with her head through the sunroof on Thursday.

The 91-year-old monarch, who looked resplendent in pink, joined officers as they stood with their heads through the roof of her Range Rover to arrive at Hyde Park in London to mark the 70th anniversary of the King's Troop Royal.

The Queen, who looked vibrant in a bold pink suit and matching hat, is Captain General of the King's Troop and received a royal salute before she inspected the unit in a parade.

Standing in a state review Land Rover, the Queen was driven passed the massed ranks of the King's Troop Royal Artillery - formed in October 1947 at the request of the King who wanted a troop of horse artillery to take part in the great ceremonies of state.

The Queen looks so pretty. Her smile so infectious and pure joy

Looking very pretty in pink, and of course her lovely smile.

This folks is why we bother with the Daily Mail. For the snaps they pick. The choice of photos in the "Rain on her Parade" piece is nothing short of spectacular. If you don't tear up looking at them, you may just be having a really bad day. And the pictures might just turn that around.

And I read neither the copy not the comments. Because, neither of those is why we bother with the Daily Mail. :flowers:

:previous: Why is there a sheik involved? Or is that a given name? Just curious. :flowers:

It’s not his name, it’s a title. I don’t know who this particular man is, but many Middle Eastern royal families are very involved in the racing world. Think Sheik of Dubai and Princess Haya, for example.

^ The Crown Prince of Dubai was present this year too. They and other sheikhs from the Gulf states/Middle East are quite close to the BRF, and to Prince Charles in particular. They come and bring their families and enjoy Ascot. Sometimes sons go to Sandhurst, like the King of Jordan's son.
