What a great video, I loved it! And the bride curtsied so elegantly. Thanks so much for posting. A day to remember for this couple in so many ways. Maybe they will send HM and Philip a postcard from their honeymoon as their new BFFs!

Great video, thank you, Osipi!
Even CNN has picked the story now - Queen Elizabeth stuns bride and groom by accepting invite
Quote:
John and Frances Canning didn't really expect Queen Elizabeth to come to their wedding, but when they learned she was going to be in Manchester, England, on the day of their nuptials, they sent an invitation on a whim.
She showed up.

Prince Philip’s fight crack is a knockout for uni pair
Quote:
Royal joker Prince Philip had students from rival cities in fits of laughter when he playfully asked them if they had FIGHTS.
The Duke of Edinburgh, 90, made the quip during a visit to Manchester with the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee tour. While chatting to students at the University of Salford, he met one from Liverpool and another from Manchester. Smiling Philip asked: "Do you fight?"
An onlooker said: "At first they weren't sure he was joking, then burst out laughing. "The students loved all the banter. The Duke seemed to enjoy himself as well."

Yes, that is a plus side indeed.

Of course, this being 'modern art' the whole project ends up costing tax payers hundreds of thousands of pounds every year.

Wow. That's disgusting.

Yes, she definitely is. That was a lovely gesture.

I understand that Princess Beatrice will accompany her grandparent to the Maundy Thursday services at York Minister. Very nice!

Will you just be able to walk into the Minster without a ticket, or do you need a ticket? Wish I was going to be there. One of my favorite places on Earth.

I'm trying to bag an invite in to the Minster, but it is closed for the day to the public. However if I can't get in i'll be outside bright and early to watch her arrive.

I'm so jealous. One of the disadvantages of living in Northern Ireland is that the Palace can't pre-announce royal visits due to the security risks. William and Kate were just across the street from my office last year on Pancake Day, but we didn't know until they were leaving.
I'll probably have to head to the mainland to guarantee a sighting.

How exciting for you! I hope you'll be able to catch a glimpse, and say 'hello'.

I can understand the security risks, and your disappointment in not being able to see William and Catherine last year. I live in the States, so I do indeed feel your pain.

Oh, definitely. Didn't she want to do some royal duties?

Queen Elizabeth accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh received a copy of the loyal address from
Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams (1) and from the Chancellor of Oxford University Lord
Patten (2) during a presentation of loyal addresses by the privileged bodies at a ceremony to mark
the Queen's Diamond Jubilee at Buckingham Palace on March 27, 2012.

Well its about time she do something positive. Hanging out with her mom is not exactly the best thing. I think she needs to make a switch and become more involved with the other side. Afterall she could end up being admired for her performance as a royal. :)
