Are you certain it is a 'badge', Joye? It looks to me to be a brooch... but then I perhaps am wrong. I am still interested in what it is. Thank you.
Hopefully, GillW or someone with much more info will weigh in with what this "brooch" is. All I can add is that it has to be specific to the place they were visiting because HM changed from the Jardine Star that she started the day wearing.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Lillebet. GillW, I am hoping that you are able to read this... Little Moe??

Dear Udyusa,
If you go to a QEII brooches , Dec 2003-October 2009, page 18,
you will find post no. 358 which has a picture of The Queen in green wearing this very same badge.

Thank you very much for the info, joye. I am on my way!

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip attended a service at Westminster
Abbey as part of a visit to the Abbey and Westminster School, on
the 450th anniversary of the granting of their Royal Charter by
Queen Elizabeth I, on May 21, 2010 in London, England.

I can't decide whether I prefer the portrait or the sculpture of Queen
Elizabeth I :) The galleries include many more nice pics!

They probably spent an obscene amount of money on that sculpture as well. To use the royal "We", We are not partial to the sculpture. .

Good heavens! That statue of the first Elizabeth looks like she's wearing a giant Life Saver around her neck :lol:
The second Elizabeth looks lovely today :)

At first looking at the sculpture I thought I was looking at C3PO. I really don't care much for it at all. HM looked absolutely lovely as she always does.

I am LOL at your description, BMC!!! It most certainly does look like a giant Life Saver.
I can't help but wonder what is going through HM's head in looking at the portrait in pic number 6...
HM does indeed look wonderful today. Beautiful colors on her.

Very interesting, modern sculpture of Queen Elizabeth I. I wonder who and when the artwork was created?

I love the painting. In the portrait Queen Elizabeth I looks like she has dark brown hair instead of reddish hair. Is the portrayal correct?:flowers:

It looks like a large hunk of styrafoam. Something to keep her from sinking.

This is one of Liz's best outfits from the past year, and so pleased to see it repeated...

I have no words to describe what I think about the sculpture

My first thought was "an Elizabethan ruff on steroids."
Now I'm thinking that it's the 16th century version of "cement shoes." ("Hey, tough guy, why are we rowing into the middle of the Thames?" Answer: "Uh, we're just gonna launder your ruff.")

Good one :ROFLMAO:
And I suppose that they paid a lot of money for this "thing"
The portrait at least is nice
Did the queen use that chair in her coronation?

Now about that statue... I would have paid good money to hear what DOE had to say about that "interesting" modern art statue of Queen Gloriana. :ROFLMAO:

I have a feeling that whatever the DOE had to say would not be printable, at least not on TRF!! LOL

Ah! But I bet it would be clever! I would love to be the fly on the wall when he said it! :D

One host of the BBC had made a bad joke with Queen Elizabeth II. He declared HM as dead:

Google Nachricht

I think declaring people who are still alive is very ugly.

:previous:
Yes the MailOnline had an article a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know why none of the higher up royals attended any of the Dunkirk Remembrance events? I know Prince Michael was in France.
