quote from the Telegraph link:

Among the images is a touching portrait of the Queen, when she was HRH Princess Elizabeth,
taken in 1942 on the occasion of her becoming Commander-in-Chief of the Grenadier Guards.

Unfortunately, Beaton's photograph wasn't shown in the article.

He quaffs beer not wine, eats snail porridge for Christmas lunch and has always loathed small talk. Prince Philip is nothing if not his own man. But is this the secret of his success?

Queen Elizabeth II to mark 83rd birthday - Yahoo!7 News

Queen Elizabeth II will mark her 83rd birthday on Tuesday with a low-key day at Windsor Castle, but she won't have the day off work, Buckingham Palace said.

The Queen's London office said the monarch has nothing special planned or any public engagements scheduled, but she will probably go through the stack of official papers she receives as head of state. She has long done that every day of the year, except on Christmas .

417 engagements for an 82-83 year old! Wow! My hat is off to you Mum!! :royalstandard:
That blue they have her in for the aritcle is just stunning!!
Happy Birthday! :flowers:

NBC2 News - Queen Elizabeth a fan of Tabasco sauce

Her Majesty is a bit of a hotty -- when it comes to her food. The makers of Tabasco sauce say Queen Elizabeth II favors the fiery condiment.

The Louisiana-based McIlhenny Co. will be honored with the ultimate seal of approval, a Royal Warrant of Appointment.

I hope however that she will wear new clothes for The Birthday Parade and the days at Royal Ascot Races, because I will be there on both occasions, the Trooping the Colour ceremony and Opening Day at Royal Ascot in the Royal Enclosure. Hope to see her and perhaps to have the opportunity to speak to her and her family.

You know that Edward and Sophie often frequent curry restaurants. Did anyone ever watch the TV series - Roswell?:D

:previous: HM always has a sparkle in her eye when she's at the races. She seems to come alive, and looks just like any other well turned out enthusiastic race-goer. I think her outfit is very fetching, too. :flowers:

The Crown Estate is akin a government department or agency. What's HM got to do with their business decisions? Silly story.
