Each of the five episodes, which will be broadcast later this year, will focus on a different period in the Queen's life. The programmes will include documentary elements, featuring "testimony from royal insiders", alongside dramatised sequences.

I am sure he'll be up and about in no time. It doesn't seem like anything can keep him down for too long.

I had to chuckle at Prince Andrew's line about not hitting the corgies when playing in his peddle car. He said, absolutely deadpan, "One had to avoid them. One couldn't run them down." It's nice to see video of HM enjoying her dogs, but I feel a bit sad at seeing her slouched over with age.

Does anyone know if he was absent due to his back injury?
I love to see these pics of the queen but at the same time its a bit saddening to me in the sense that it is obvious that she is getting on in years, as is obviously natural, but sad to me nonetheless. But goodness I wish her and prince philip many many more years of good health!

Yes he was.

The Duke was absent from West Newton Church, King's Lynn, Norfolk, where the Queen attended morning service.

Fears are growing for the health of Prince Philip after he missed both going to church and the last shooting party of winter at Sandringham.

The Queen is to relaunch her website with the help of Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web.

She emails her grandchildren with gossip, laughs out loud at clips on YouTube and is often overheard telling friends and staff: "Why don't you Google it?" .

Queen Elizabeth II unveils a plaque as she opens the Carole Brown Health Centre on February 3, 2009 in Dersingham, England. The Queen attended on her own as the Duke of Edinburgh was unable to for health reasons. Amongst others the Queen met nurses, community team and primary care trust representatives.

The Queen, whose personal fortune is estimated to have fallen by £25 million since the start of the credit crunch, has now taken a substantial hit on the Crown Estate because of the collapse of the economy in Iceland.
