Queen Elizabeth II receives credentials from Chilean Ambassador Rafael Moreno Rojas, right, at Buckingham Palace in London, Tuesday, July 11, 2006.

Queen Elizabeth II (R) receives the President of Algeria, Abdelaziz Boutefika, at Buckingham Palace, in London, 11 July 2006. Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika arrived Tuesday for the first official visit to Britain by an Algerian head of state since the North African state won its independence from France in 1962

I have a doubt: the protocol doesn't "say" we should greet people, without gloves?

srivishnu, unfortunately online translation software doesn't always get things entirely right. Isabel is the Spanish for Elizabeth, the original article was in Spanish, and the translation software rendered the name into something more Spanish than English. It also came up with Edimburgo, but people should be able to figure it out. Just one of those things we have to live with in order to get translations (and the forum rules require English translations of foreign-language articles). I'm sure fanletizia knows what the Queen's name is in English.

Royal protocol dictates that The Queen wears gloves if HM were to meet many people or a large number of people as The Queen is not supposed to "directly or rawly" touch commoners and commoners is not supposed to touch, kiss or hug The Queen. So if The Queen is to meet a few people or a small number of people then The Queen does not wear gloves.

That's not actually true. It's a matter of personal preference and the Queen's age. She wears gloves because her mother did, and her grandmother did. It's nothing to do with not touching commoners directly or she'd wear them all the time.

I asked Buckingham Palace thorough the Royal Insight's mailbox of The Queen's gloves wearing habit and I was told that it is due to royal protocol so as not to touch commoners. All female members' of the British Royal family except the Duchess of Cornwall wears gloves when attending formal and official duties such as engagements, state banquets, etc. The Queen is known to keep, practice and follow strictly royal protocols, customs and traditions.HM rarely breaks protocol.

Hmmm. I'm not calling you a liar but there was a huge fuss over it a few years ago in Britain and when Bucking Palace were asked, they said that it was not because the Queen didn't want to touch people, it was a personal decision that the Queen had been brought up to wear hats and gloves and like many women of her generation, still prefers to do so. And if you look at the Queen Mother, Princess Alice etc they all wore gloves because they were of a generation that just did. My grandmother is 3 years younger than the Queen and always wears a hat and gloves when she goes out. It's a fashion thing and the Queen's style is the Queen's style.

State Banquets are the same and again it's personal choice. Princess Alexandra has worn long white gloves at some banquets but not at others. The Queen has worn gloves at banquets and not at others.

When I look for them on all these photos, I wonder what kind of relationships they have? (I know that is little strange or stupid.)
But, did after all these years which they spent together as a wife and husband are they still love each other or they've just become indifferent to each other?
