Hello!
Who can tell about the health of Queen Elizabeth?
There's nothing about in brazilian newspaper or magazines.
Thanks
Ana Silva

She had knee surgery and had facial lesions removed in December. But she appears to be recovering well.

Hi...
She is fine, yestarday, Queen Elizabethe cracked a huge botlle of champagne in Queen Mary 2 (I red it in SUN on-line)

It's nice to see new pics of the Queen and Prince Philip. The last pictures I saw of her was from Dec. 25th's christmas service. I loved the color of her dress. It makes her look glowing and energetic. Maybe she is finding it really difficult to walk sometimes without the aide of that cane. But she still looks fine.

How old is Prince Phillip? Does anyone had photo of him with the Queen during state visit to other countries!!! Thanks and Good Day!!!!

Prince Philip is 82. He was born June 10, 1921.

Also if you search through some of the older threads, there are photos of the Queen and Prince Philip during state visits, such as to Nigeria and from the USA. Hope that helps. :)

New pics in Rex. I gona see if i can find then in other site because Rex don't let us see the pics in full size. Sea later  :grrr:

I thought this was cute:

"The Queen had the last laugh yesterday when she answered a question
about Harry Potter that had defeated a group of children at church
near Sandringham.

She chuckled when, in conversation with the Bishop of Birmingham,
the Rt Rev John Sentamu, she was able to name Professor Dumbledore
as the head teacher of Hogwarts, J K Rowling's school for wizards.

The Queen attending morning service at St Mary's church, Flitcham
"The Queen was laughing because she knew the answer and none of the
children did," said the bishop. "She said: 'Fancy the children not
knowing about Harry Potter - I knew.'"

The Queen also showed signs of recovery from her recent knee
operation. She made little use of the walking stick she carried
while attending Sunday morning service at St Mary's church in
Flitcham, near her Norfolk estate, and felt confident enough to step
on to uneven grass next to the path to chat happily to local well-
wishers and the attending clergy."

It's great to see that Queen Elizabeth is getting better after her knee surgery! (Does anyone know what they did during the suregery?) Her smile seems genuine and she looks happy and well. It's to bad her sour-puss of a husband didn't smile every once in a while, he looks like a grumpy old man!

Does anyone had photo of the royal couple during state visit to other countries!!! such as Nepal or any asian countries?

I think this question has already been asked. Please look in two places:

1. The rest of the British forum for particular threads related to state visits

2. Any threads marked Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip News and Picture Threads. There will be pictures of any state visits past and present the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have taken.

Queen shows off Harry Potter knowledge

The Queen has outwitted a group of children with her knowledge of Harry Potter.

She surprised the Bishop of Birmingham, the Rt Rev Dr John Sentamu, by revealing she knew the answer to a question about the teenage wizard's adventures which foxed the young congregation at a service she attended.

Bishop Sentamu said after the service at St Mary's Church, Flitcham, near the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk, she told him: "Fancy the children not knowing about Harry Potter. I really am surprised. I knew."

Bishop Sentamu, who had been invited to preach at the service, said: "Her Majesty seemed to know a lot about Harry Potter. I am quite surprised about that."

The Bishop had asked the children: "A famous professor once told one of his pupils, 'It's not our abilities or gifts which define who we are, but the choices we make'. Do any of you know who that professor was?"

The answer was Professor Dumbledore.

RE: Britters comment: Prince Philip suffers horrific pain from advanced arthritis. You need to imagine having the pain of an abcessed tooth in most of the joints of your entire body 24/7, and being over 80 years old, while carrying out more public engagements than any other Royal. He does well. And he's always been known for his bone dry sense of humor (which has gotten him into lots and lots of trouble in the 56 years he's been married and in the spot light), and a positive outlook on life. He just looks like the very old man he is.

"The Queen is planning a "girl power" lunch to celebrate successful
women, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
Celebrated women from the arts, media, law and business, including
JK Rowling and Cherie Booth, will be at the gathering next month.

The Queen, the Countess of Wessex and the Princess Royal will mingle
with up to 200 invited guests.

A palace spokeswoman said the event on 11 March, three days after
International Women's day, was the first of its kind.

The three women will dine with glamorous guests such as Mobo awards
organiser Kanya King, Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman and Tamara
Mellon, of the Jimmy Choo shoe label.

Others on the invite list include 60s icon Twiggy, journalist Sheena
McDonald, former athlete Dame Mary Peters and ex-model Heather Mills
McCartney.

"It will be the first all female event at the Palace. It's one of
the theme days that we're having," a Palace spokeswoman said.

"It's going to be about women and their achievements.

"It's not just well known people, there will be lots of business
women, women from arts and education and grass roots people."

It will be Sophie's first engagement since the birth of her
daughter, Lady Louise."

"The Queen isn't used to being ignored, but she couldn't help seeing
the funny side when a pair of three-year-old boys got her confused
with their teacher. Her Majesty turned out to open a nursery school
in Norfolk, but things got a little muddled when Toby Ridsdale and
Jamie Thompson were to present the royal visitor with a book to mark
her visit.

Apparently the two youngsters had been rehearsing the presentation
for three weeks, with their teacher Dee Gent playing the Queen. But
when the time came to make the handover for real, they walked
straight past their guest and tried to give the souvenir to Dee.

With an amused smile on her face, the monarch had to follow the two
boys over and graciously take delivery of the memento.

"I've been playing the Queen and they've been giving the book and
bowing, " explained the teacher afterwards. "They were doing it
beautifully. I showed them pictures of the Queen because I was
concerned that they wouldn't know who she was. They obviously got a
little confused, but they did really well as did the other children."

I love The Queen's outfit. Her majesty's style clearly gets much better with age!!!

A 41 gun salute is fired in Green Park to mark the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accension to the throne, Feb. 6, 2004. The Queen accended to the throne on Feb. 6, 1952 after the death of Her father King George VI. This marks the beginning of The Queen's 52nd years as Queen.

From the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Philip, Duke of
Edinburg, will make a state visit to France from April 5 to 7, 2004.
This is the queen´s fourth state visit to France: the three previous
visits were April 8-11,1957, May 15-19, 1972 and June 9-12, 1992. The
visit marks the start of celebrations to commemorate the Entente Cordiale,
agreements signed between Britain and France on April 8, 1904, the
centenary of which is being celebrated this year with special pomp.

Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburg will be received by President
Chirac for a state dinner at the Palais de l´Elysée on April 5. On April
6 the prime minister will host a luncheon in their honor at the Hôtel de
Matignon. That same day, the British ambassador will host a dinner at his
residence on the theme of the fight against cancer, one of the main
priorities of the EC centennial.

The program for the state visit is also expected to include a reception at
the Senate offered by the speakers of the Senate and National Assembly and
a meeting with the mayor of Paris. In addition Queen Elizabeth and the
Duke of Edinburg will attend an equestrian spectacle performed by the
Cadre Noir at Saumur; they will also visit the future British art room at
the Musée du Louvre.

On April 7 Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh will fly to Toulouse
where they will attend a luncheon given by Deputy Mayor of Toulouse
Philippe Douste-Blazy. There will be a meeting with French and British
Entente Cordiale scholarship-holders and their patrons. The queen and duke
of Edinburgh will then pay a visit to Airbus Industry headquarters.

They will fly back to London in the afternoon.
