Prince Philip gets warm welcome from Irish president

DUBLIN (AFP) - President Mary McAleese welcomed Britain's Prince Philip to Ireland for a trip that has renewed speculation about a first-ever visit there by his wife Queen Elizabeth.
The prince joined a youth ceremony for the 21st anniversary of Ireland's presidential youth awards programme and the 50th anniversary of his own Duke of Edinburgh scheme.

Article from Hello

The monarch is well-aware that she's not the only hard-working soul who has given decades of service to the British public, and it was with this in mind that she hosted a special event to celebrate the UK's older heroes on Wednesday afternoon.

I wonder why that garden was planted in an American garden in Oxford. Princess Margaret didn't have any particular ties with either the US or Oxford. It is a nice gesture, though.

Here's another pic from Corbis from the Living Legends Awards at Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth II accompanied by the "compere", TV and radio presenter Michael Parkinson (R), congratulates Help The Aged Living Legend award winner, actor Sir Roger Moore at a ceremony at Windsor Castle.

I personally like the green. Roger Moore looks a little older than he did as James Bond though. Very appropriate for a Living Legends Award however.
