Remember that George VI was the second son and not the eldest son.

In that regard Elizabeth was born in the same position as Beatrice - the elder daughter of the Duke of York, the second son of the monarch - and as such was born HRH Princess Elizabeth of York.

I know that others also read it.
I too read it on a daily basis, because I get the Times each day (not the Sunday Times, but that doesn't carry the CC anyway). It is annoying that the online CC regularly misses out Friday engagements.

I do still think, however, that if the York girls do charitable engagements they should be included in the CC, their precedence is higher than Princess Alexandra who does get a mention.

The online CC is up to date to last Thursday for this year.

It normally doesn't update for Friday, Saturday or Sunday until the following Monday (or Tuesday for me down under) which is why my weekly updates are Friday to Thursday. I need the time on the weekend to do all the entries into the spreadsheets etc.

Does it matter whether they make an appearance representing the Queen rather than on the basis of their own charitable interest?

Princess Beatrice attends new exhibition honouring Alexander McQueen | Daily Mail Online
Quote:
Princess Beatrice showed she has a royal flair for fashion as she turned up at the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition in a black tuxedo gown slashed to the thigh.

The 26-year-old guaranteed all eyes were on her, yet still managed to appear elegant as she flashed some leg on her way into the venue.

The slender princess inadvertently brought back memories of the 2012 Oscars, when pictures of Angelina Jolie 'legbombing' went viral on the internet.

I thought that Beatrice looked great in an old-Hollywood-glamour-queen kind of way. It's certainly a different look for her, but I think that she "rocked it." Personally, I like a less glamorous look for a princess; but that's just me.

Wow! I love it! Beatrice looked so gorgeous! While the only thing striking about some of the other outfits was they were so ghastly - and yet people wore them! Lady Gaga who I'm not a fan of- don't wish her ill - just not a fan- would have been in heaven.
Surprised the Duchess of Cambridge did not attend.

Dear God, are we looking at the same photos...she looks like a cross between a 1940's starlet and a vampire.

Yep, we're looking at the same pictures. I personally like the 40s starlet/vampire look, and I love it on Beatrice with her gorgeous auburn hair.

She is not a formal representative of HMq and therefore does not appear in the CC. REgarding another comment her "precedence" has nothing to do with whether she is in the CC or not.

People may not like it but only those specific members of the BRF nominated by HMQ as her repsresentatives are in the CC.

I've never been a fan of the clutch the region of your crotch to keep your dress from flying open look, so that turned me off. I like the 40s style make up and hair on Beatrice - do wish she'd added some earrings with that hairstyle.
I get the feeling that the 'finance course in the USA' was a press invented fiction although we did have reports of Sarah confirming it.

Beatrice looks nice. She is graceful.
Her outfit could use a set of pearls and earrings to finish the 1950s look.

I would say that Beatrice looked the best of a bad lot - none of them looked good and that included Beatrice but she did look more put together than the other women present.

I don't think Beatrice wears earrings, although Eugenie does.

I liked her hair, but the dress didn't work for her, imo.
And the bright red lipstick was a mistake.

(Still, I don't think she deserved some of the vicious comments she got in the DM. No one seemed to have anything positive to say).

....
Yes, I've noticed that Beatrice does not wear earrings, but a borrowed set of Granny's diamond chandelier drop earrings would have been such a treat for those of us who adore serious bling:)
I liked the bright red lipstick, personally.

Meh...the outfit could of been more than it was. She needed some jewels (pearls or something to balance the look) and the slit was way high/exposed. Less would of been more elegant.

The commentators there generally aren't known for their kindness. They remind me of some of the sites about Royals that do nothing but snarl and insult.

Princess Beatrice Charitable Work With Frontline

Princess Beatrice saw the harsh reality of child protection work when she attended case meetings and met a boy taken into foster care.

The co-founder of the charitable trust Big Change, which helps projects improving young people’s lives, said the staff were “unsung heroes, often invisible to the rest of us”.

Social work ‘heroes’ win royal praise | The Times

Beatrice York, Trustee at Big Change:
“At Big Change we are committed to supporting high-impact social projects like Frontline. Today’s opportunity allowed me to see first-hand the incredible work that social workers are doing every day.”

Big names team up to give social work a go | Frontline
