I am happy about these two:)
31 MARCH 2005Given that there is just one week to go before he makes his vows with long-time partner Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Charles was no doubt expecting a little interest from onlookers when he took slopes of Klosters in the Swiss Alps. But for once the heir to the throne was not the centre of everybody's attention, because on Wednesday afternoon all eyes were on his son's pretty companion Kate Middleton. The girl who is said to have captured William's heart joined her dashing prince and his family for a bit of snowy fun this week. After spending the morning with the Prince of Wales, the pair headed off for some quality time together before meeting up with the rest of the party for lunch. Kate and Wills did their best to avoid the press pack by walking to the piste separately, but there was no disguising their affection for one another when they sat together for the afternoon meal. It is the second year in a row that Kate has joined the family for their annual Alpine break. The 22-year-old, who shares a house with William in the Scottish town of St Andrews, where they are both students, became close to him after they met in their first year at the university. And although their future together will depend largely on what happens after they finish their studies this summer, for now their relationship seems to be going from strength to strength. And Wills' relationship with his father seems equally robust. As next week's wedding - at which William is to serve as a witness - approaches, both siblings put on show of solidarity when they posed for pictures at the resort with Charles. With his hand placed warmly on his parent's knee, Wills left photographers in little doubt about his affection for the future king.

1 APRIL 2005 Prince William has taken time out from his family holiday in Klosters to give a candid interview about his personal life. Speaking to a journalist in the Alpine ski resort, the heir to the throne spoke openly about his much talked about relationship with fellow student Kate Middleton. Asked whether he might follow in his father's footsteps by taking a walk down the aisle, Wills insisted he was in no hurry to make his vows. "Look, I'm only 22 for God's sake," he affirmed. "I am too young to marry at my age. I don't want to get married until I'm at least 28 or 30." The second in line also opened his heart about the media pressure on his younger brother. "Harry's a great lad," he said. "He gets such a hard time from the press. The image people have of him is nothing like the real thing. He's young and very fun loving. You only have to look at how popular he is to see how people who know him adore him." Wills went on to reveal his sibling had a hard time coping with the constant interest in his relationship with South African student Chelsy Davy. "He's just a young lad who's madly in love," explained the handsome royal. Last edited by cute_girl; 04-01-2005 at 06:09 AM. |

Does anyone have the full interview The Sun had with him today? I heard he talked pretty openly about Kate throughout the whole thing. Also spoke of his excitement for his father's wedding.

I know that William finishes up at St. Andrews in May or his exams are in May but I haven't heard anything about him taking up official engagements with the Queen and Prince Philip. I think that is highly unlikely...but you never know.

It won't be the start of full time public engagements though as he is supposed to be following Harry to Sandhurst. That would indicate to me at least three more years before full time royal duty beckons as that is the minimum term for a commissioned officer (Short Term Commission). He could opt for a longer term commission and put off duty full time royal duties for a much longer period of time. |

25 APRIL 2005 Prince William took some serious knocks on the pitch this past weekend as girlfriend Kate Middleton cheered him on from the sidelines. The Prince of Wales' elder son demonstrated his athletic skills during a rugby tournament at St Andrews, tackling – and tumbling – with the best of them. Kate, who is also a student at the Scottish university, was spotted taking in the action with a pair of female pals. And apparently watching the handsome royal get physical on the field helped Kate work up an appetite. The pretty 22-year-old, who recently returned from a ski trip with the Royal Family, took a break from the match, standing with her casually-dressed friends as she snacked on a hamburger. |

Princes William and Harry to get new secretary
(AP) 1 May 2005 LONDON - Prince William and Prince Harry are getting a new private secretary this week to guide them in their royal duties. Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, a former equerry to the princes’ late great-grandmother, Queen Mother Elizabeth, is joining Clarence House as the brothers’ key aide, royal officials said. The ex-Army officer, who was educated at the prestigious Eton College, will start work on Tuesday, as Harry, 20, prepares to enter Sandhurst military college next weekend. He is expected to be particularly helpful to William, 22, when he finishes his degree at St. Andrew’s University in Scotland later this year. Clarence House said William, Harry, and their father Prince Charles made the decision to appoint Lowther-Pinkerton together. The new royal aide will work closely with Sir Michael Peat, Charles’s private secretary, and Helen Asprey, personal secretary to William and Harry, who organizes their diaries. As the princes grow older and assume more royal duties, Lowther-Pinkerton will advise them about which engagements to take on, and what charities to support. Lowther-Pinkerton is married and has three children. He served with Britain’s crack unit, the Special Air Service, in the first Persian Gulf War. He was the queen mother’s equerry from 1984-86. Lowther-Pinkerton left the Army in 1998 after 20 years’ service and now runs a company providing safety awareness and training to students planning to travel abroad. Clarence House said Lowther-Pinkerton will work for the princes for 2 1/2 days a week. |
